SAFETY INFORMATION

In the interest of your safety and toensure the correct use, before instal-ling and first using the appliance,read this user manual carefully, in-cluding its hints and warnings. Toavoid unnecessary mistakes and acci-dents, it is important to ensure thatall people using the appliance arethoroughly familiar with its operationand safety features. Save these in-structions and make sure that theyremain with the appliance if it ismoved or sold, so that everyone us-ing it through its life will be properlyinformed on appliance use and safe-ty.

GENERAL SAFETY• It is dangerous to alter the specifica-

tions or attempt to modify this prod-uct in any way.

• This appliance is not intended for useby persons (including children) withreduced physical and sensory condi-tions or lack of experience andknowledge, unless they have beengiven supervision or instruction con-cerning use of the appliance by aperson responsible for their safety.

• Make sure that small children andpets do not climb inside the drum.To avoid this, please check into thedrum before using.

• Any objects such as coins, safetypins, nails, screws, stones or any oth-er hard, sharp material can cause ex-tensive damage and must not beplaced into the machine.

• Items such as foam rubber (latexfoam), shower caps, waterproof tex-tiles (if there is no special drying pro-gramme), rubber backed articles andclothes or pillows fitted with foamrubber pads must not be dried in thetumble dryer.

• Make sure that there is access to themains plug after the installation.

• Always unplug the appliance afteruse, cleaning and maintenance.

• Under no circumstances should youattempt to repair the machine your-self. Repairs carried out by inexper-ienced persons may cause injury orserious malfunctioning. Contact yourlocal Service Centre. Always insist ongenuine spare parts.

• Items that have been soiled with sub-stances such as cooking oil acetone,petrol, kerosene, spot removers, tur-pentine, waxes and wax removersshould be washed in hot water withan extra amount of detergent beforebeing dried in the tumble dryer.

• Danger of explosion: Never tumbledry items that have been in contactwith inflammable solvents (petrol,methylated spirits, dry cleaning fluidand the like). As these substances arevolatile, they could cause an explo-sion. Only tumble dry items washedwith water.

• Risk of fire: items that have beenspotted or soaked with vegetable orcooking oil constitute a fire hazardand should not be placed in the tum-ble dryer.

• If you have washed your laundry withstain remover you must execute anextra rinse cycle before loading yourtumble dryer.

• Please make sure that no gas lightersor matches have accidentally beenleft in pockets of garments incasethey are loaded into appliance

• The condensed water is not applica-ble to drink or to prepare food. It cancause health problems to people andpets.

• Do not seat or lean on the load door.The appliance can tilt.

WARNING!• Risk of fire! To prevent from

the risk of self combustiondo not stop a tumble dryerbefore the end of the dry-ing cycle unless all items arequickly removed and spreadout so that the heat is dissi-pated.

• Lint must not be allowed toaccumulate around the tum-ble dryer.

• Risk of electric shock! Do not spraydown the appliance with jets of wa-ter.

• The final part of a tumble dryer cycleoccurs without heat ( cool down cy-cle ) to ensure that the items are leftat a temperature that ensures thatitems will not be damaged.

• The tumble dryer is not to be used ifindustrial chemicals have been usedfor cleaning.

• Ensure you have good ventilation inthe installation room to avoid theback flow of gases into the roomfrom appliances burning other fuels,including open fires.

INSTALLATION• This appliance is heavy. Be careful

when you move the appliance.• When unpacking the appliance,

check that it is not damaged. If indoubt, do not use it and contact theService Centre.

• All packaging must be removed be-fore use. Dangerous damage can oc-cur to the product and to property ifthis is not adhered to. See relevantsection in the user manual.

• Each electrical work necessary to in-stall this appliance must be done bya qualified electrician or competentperson.

• The rear surface of the appliancemust be put against the wall

• If the appliance is installed on thecarpet or equivalent, adjust the feet.

Air must flow freely below the appli-ance.

• After the appliance installation, checkthat it is not squeeze or stay on theelectrical supply cable.

• If the tumble dryer is put on top of awashing machine, it is mandatory touse the stacking kit (optional acces-sory - see chapter: "ACCESSORIES").

USE• This appliance is for domestic use

only. It must not be used for otherfunctions .

• Only dry fabrics which are applicableto dry in the tumble dryer. Follow theinstructions on each piece of clothinglabel.

• Do not dry not washed items in thetumble dryer.

• Do not put more load than recom-mended. Obey the maximum loadvolume. See the related chapter inthe user manual.

• Clothes which are dripping wet mustnot be put in the tumble dryer.

• Garments which have been in contactwith volatile petroleum productsshould not be machine dried. If vola-tile cleaning fluids are used, careshould be taken to ensure that thefluid is removed from the garmentbefore placing in the appliance.

• Do not use the tumble dryer if thepower supply cable, the control pan-el, the working surface or the baseare damaged so that the inside ofthe tumble dryer is accessible.

• Fabric softener or equivalent prod-ucts must be used as specified by thefabric softener manufacturer.

• Risk of fire! Do not dry the damageditems which contain padding or fil-lings (pillows, jackets, duvets, etc.).The padding or fillings can get outand cause the fire.

CHILD SAFETY• This machine is not intended for use

by young children or infirm personswithout supervision.

• Children often do not recognise thehazards associated with electrical ap-pliances. Children should be super-vised to ensure that they do not playwith the appliance.

WARNING!• Danger of suffocation! The

packaging components (e.g.plastic film, polystyrene) canbe dangerous to children -Keep them out of children’sreach.

• Keep all detergents in a safe placeout of children’s reach.

• Make sure that children or pets donot climb inside the drum.

DISCARD THE APPLIANCE• Disconnect the mains plug from the

mains socket.• Cut off the mains cable and discard

it.• Discard the door catch. This prevents

children or pets to be closed in theappliance. There is a risk of suffoca-tion.

As alternative for the buttons to set thefunction you must touch the area withthe function name. Each area betweenthe vertical marks senses the user fin-ger.

For accurate selection touch thecenter point of the area be-tween the vertical marks. Do notwear gloves when you touch thepanel to set the function. Makesure the panel is always cleanand dry.

BEFORE FIRST USEClean the tumble dryer drum with amoist cloth or set a short programme(e.g. 30 minutes time programme) withthe load of moist cloths.

CAUTION!

The compressor and its system in thetumble dryer is filled with the specialagent which is free from fluoro-chloro-hydrocarbons. This system must staytight. The damage of the system cancause the leakage and damage of theappliance.At the beginning of drying cycle (3-5min.) there could be a slightly highersound level. It is because of start of thecompressor that is normal for compres-sor powered appliances such: refrigera-tors, freezers .

LANGUAGEThe first time you activate the appliancethe default language comes into theview on the display. You can confirm itor set the different language from avail-able languages.To set the different language:

1. Turn the programme dial to setyour language.

2. To memorise the selection touchthe Start/Pause function.

USING THE APPLIANCE

PREPARING THE LAUNDRYDry only the laundry applicableto dry in the tumble dryer. Makesure if the laundry is applicableto dry in the tumble dryer. Dothe check of the fabric mark onthe clothes.

LOADING THE LAUNDRY

SWITCHING ON THEAPPLIANCE

Push the On/Off button to activateor to deactivate the appliance. Whenthe appliance is on, some indicationscome in to the view on the display.

AUTO OFF FUNCTIONTo decrease the energy consumption,the Auto Off function deactivates auto-matically the appliance:• if the Start/Pause button was not

pushed in the time of 5 minutes.

SETTING A PROGRAMME

Use the programme dial to set the pro-gramme. The possible time to com-plete the programme come into viewon the display.

The drying time you see is rela-ted to the load of 5 kg for cot-ton and jeans programmes. Forthe other programmes the dry-ing time is related to the recom-mended loads. The drying timeof the cotton and jeans pro-grammes with the load morethan 5 kg is longer.

SPECIAL FUNCTIONSTogether with the programme you canset 1 or more special functions.To activate or deactivate the functiontouch the applicable function name.

When the function is activated the ap-plicable symbol comes into the view onthe display.

THE DRY PLUS FUNCTIONThis function helps to get the laundrymore dried. There are 3 possible selec-tions:minimum - the default selection whichis related to the programme.moderate — the selection to get themore dried laundry.maximum — the selection to get themuch more dried laundry.

THE SPUN AT RPM FUNCTIONThis function helps to set the best con-dition to dry the laundry. If you knowthe initial spin speed when you washedyou can use this function. Higher spinspeed causes that the laundry containsless water.

THE ANTICREASE FUNCTIONExtends of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes thestandard anticrease phase (30 minutes)at the end of the drying cycle. Thisfunction prevents the laundry fromcreases. The laundry can be removedduring the anticrease phase.

THE BUZZER FUNCTIONWhen the buzzer function is activatedyou can hear the buzzer at the:• cycle end• anti-crease phase start and end• cycle interruptionThe buzzer function is by default alwayson. You can use this function to activateor deactivate the sound.

THE TIME DRY FUNCTIONOperates only with the Time Dryingprogramme. Lets the user to set specialtime of drying programme from mini-mum 10 min. to maximum of 2 hours (in10 min. steps).

THE DELAY START FUNCTIONLet to delay the start of a dryingprogramme from minimum of30 minutes to maximum of 20hours.

1. Set the drying programme andfunctions.

2. Push the Delay start button againand again until the necessary timeof the delay come into the view onthe display (e.g. if the pro-gramme has to start after 12 hours.)

3. To activate the Delay start function,push the Start/Pause button. Thetime to start decreases on the dis-play.

THE EXTRA SILENTFUNCTIONThis function use special procedure todry the laundry and decreases the noiseto the minimum.

CHILD LOCK FUNCTIONThe child lock can be set to prevent thechildren to play with the appliance. Thechild lock function locks all functionsand the programme dial (this functiondoes not lock On/Off button). To ac-tivate the child lock function touch theDry Plus and Anticrease function surfa-ces at the same time. When the func-tion is active the symbol comes intoview on the display.

To deactivate touch again the abovefunction surfaces until the symbol goout of view.You can activate the child lock function:• before you touch the Start/Pause

function - the appliance cannot start

• after you touch the Start/Pause func-tion - all the push buttons and theprogramme dial are deactivated

USER SELECTION MEMORY1-2Each programme set initially can bememorised in the appliance memoryand used after. You can do your config-uration and than memorise in the appli-ance memory under 2 positions: Mem-ory 1 and Memory 2.To memorise your configuration:1. Set the programme and available

functions2. Touch the Memory 1 or 2 for some

seconds. The sound and the mes-sage on the display confirm thatthe configuration is memorised.

CHANGE A PROGRAMME

To change a programme, push the On/Off button to deactivate appliance.Push the On/Off to activate the ap-

pliance and then set the programmeagain.

AT THE END OF PROGRAMMEWhen the drying cycle is completed,the symbol flashes on the display. Ifthe Buzzer function is on, an acousticsignal sounds intermittently for one mi-nute.To remove the laundry:1. Push the Auto/Off button for 2 sec-

onds to deactivate the appliance.

2. Open the appliance door.3. Remove the laundry.4. Close the appliance door.

After each drying cycle:

• clean the filter• drain the water container(See chapter CARE AND CLEANING.)

HINTS AND TIPS

ECOLOGICAL HINTS• Do not use fabric softener to wash

and then dry. In the tumble dryerlaundry becomes soft automatically.

• Use the condensate as distilled wa-ter, e.g. for steam ironing. If necessa-ry clean the condensate before (e.g.with a coffee filter) to remove possi-ble small pieces of fluff.

• Always keep the airflow slots on thebottom of the appliance clear.

• Use the load volumes specified in theprogrammes chapter.

• Make sure that is good airflow in theappliance installation position.

• Clean the filter after each drying cy-cle.

• Spin good the laundry before drying.

WATER HARDNESS ANDCONDUCTIVITYWater hardness can be different for dif-ferent locations. Water hardness has aneffect on the water conductivity and the

operation of the conductivity sensor inthe appliance. If you know the value ofthe water conductivity you can adjustthe sensor to dry with the better results.To change the sensor conductivity:1. Turn the programme dial to availa-

ble programme.2. Touch at the same time 2 functions

(see the illustration).

CARE AND CLEANING

CLEANING THE PRIMARYFILTERAt the end of each cycle the indicator

(clean the primary filter) is on to tellyou that the primary filter must becleaned.

The filter collects the fluff. Thefluff occurs while the cloths aredried in the tumble dryer.

To clean the primary filter: 1. Open the door.

2. Pull the filter.

3. Open the filter.

4. Use a moist hand to clean the filter.

5. If necessary clean the filter withwarm water using a brush.Close the filter.

6. Remove fluff from the filter socket.For this a vacuum cleaner can beused.

7. Put the filter inside the filter socket.

CAUTION!Do not operate the tumble dry-er without the primary filter orwith damaged or blocked filter.

Clean the primary filter aftereach drying cycle. Clogged filterincreases the cycle time andcauses higher energy consump-tion.

DRAINING THE WATERCONTAINERDrain the water container after eachdrying cycle.

If the water container is full, the pro-gramme breaks off automatically andthe indicator drain the water con-tainer is on. To continue the pro-gramme, drain the water container andpress the start button.

To drain the water container au-tomatically you can install drain-ing accessory (see chapter: AC-CESSORIES)

To drain the water container: 1. Pull the water container.

2. Move the water container in hori-zontal position.

3. Move the plastic connection outand drain the water container into asink or equivalent receptacle.

4. Move plastic connection in and in-stall water container.

WARNING!Risk of poisoning. The con-densed water is not applicableto drink or to prepare food.

The condensed water can beused as distilled water, e.g. forsteam ironing. If necessary filterthe condensed water (e.g. with acoffee filter) to remove possibleresidue and small pieces of fluff.

CLEANING THE HEATEXCHANGER FILTERS

If the indicator clean the heat ex-changer filters is on, the filters must becleaned.

To clean the filters: 1. Open the loading door.

2. Move the release button on thebottom of the door opening andopen the heat exchanger door.

3. Turn the blockage to unlock theheat exchanger cover.

4. Lower the heat exchanger filterscover.

5. Lift the primary filter. Hold the heatexchanger filter and pull it out fromthe bottom compartment.

6. Push the hook to open the filter.

7. Use a moist hand to clean the filter.If necessary clean the filter withwarm water using a brush.Close the filter.

8. Clean the small filter from the base

9. If necessary, one time for each 6months, remove the fluff from theheat exchanger compartment. Youcan use a vacuum cleaner.

10. Put the small filter and heat ex-changer filter back.

11. Close the heat exchanger cover.

12. Lock the blockage until it snaps.

13. Close the heat exchanger filterscover.

14. Close the heat exchanger door.

15. Put the primary filter.

CAUTION!Do not operate the tumble dry-er when the heat exchanger fil-ters are blocked with fluff. Thiscould cause the damage to thetumble dryer. This also increasesenergy consumption.Do not use sharp objects toclean the heat exchanger com-partment.Do not operate the tumble dry-er without the filters.

CLEANING THE DRUMWARNING!Disconnect the appliance be-fore you clean it.

Use a standard neutral soap detergentto clean the inner surface of the drumand drum ribs. Dry the cleaned surfaceswith a soft cloth.

CAUTION!Do not use abrasive materials orsteel wool to clean the drum.

INSTALLATION

APPLIANCE POSITIONING• The tumble dryer must be installed in

a clean position, where dirt does notcollect.

• Air must flow freely around the appli-ance. Make sure that the front airflowslots in the bottom of the applianceare not blocked .

• To keep vibration and noise at theminimum, when the tumble dryer op-erates, it must be put on a stable andflat surface.

• When the appliance is put in its per-manent position, check if is fully levelwith the aid of a spirit level. If it isnot, adjust the feet until it is.

• Do not remove the feet. Do not de-crease the floor clearance throughthick carpets, bar of wood or equiva-lent. This can increase the heat whichcan cause interference with the oper-ation of the appliance.

• The temperature of the hotair which occurs in the tumbledryer can increase to 60 °C.The appliance must not be in-stalled on the floor which isnot resistant to high tempera-tures.

• When the tumble dryer oper-ates, the room temperaturemust not be lower than +5 °Cand higher than +35 °C. Thiscan cause unwanted effect onthe performance of the appli-ance.

• If it is necessary to move theappliance, it must be movedvertically.

• The appliance must not be in-stalled behind a lockabledoor, a sliding door, a doorwith a hinge on the oppositeside to that of the appliancein such a way that a full open-ing of the tumble dryer is re-stricted.

THE LOAD DOOR REVERSALThe load door can be installed by theuser in the opposite side. It can help toeasily put and remove the laundry or ifthere is a limit to install the appliance.(see separate leaflet).
