• The librarian (or another child) can use a Flip camera to film the book-talk.• Flip and other mini-cams can also be

mounted to a mini-tripod. • Flip uses a USB swivel-arm. No cables!• The video can be burned to a disk for

the child to keep.

Book Trailer Tips

I recommend keeping it simple. • Do it in one take. • Repeat takes as needed.• Avoid editing, unless the child has the

skills.• There are free editing programs.

• Want a car? Create a steering wheel.•Studying for an exam? Make a book.• Clemson or USC? Show me your best Tiger Paw or Gamecock.

• Take the scissors, and cut an image from a sheet of aluminum foil.• When finished, use the Sharpies to color your image to completion.

What Do You Want To Do?

Bam Bam and MilagroThis is what the Milagro can

look like on you, too!

• Have activities and materials for all ages. Latinos tend to attend as families.

• Favor family and daily life, authentic folklore. • Avoid tokenism. Not too many sombreros,

please!• Avoid gender, age, ability and race stereotypes.• Consider subcultures.• See the wiki for more materials and ideas such
