Can you imagine a trip into a deep red of the Devil's Desert? How would be the blue-green like

the sea but in the middle of the Puna's mountains? Decode the symbols of nature in the most

beautiful landscapes of Argentina.

Day 1 BUENOS AIRESArrival at local airport. Transfer to Alvear o Faena Hotel

Afternoon free. In the evening dinner and tango show at Rojo Tango.

Day 2 BUENOS AIRESBreakfast. Morning 5 hours city tour visiting the most important Buenos Aires

neighborhoods such as Montserrat, La Boca, Puerto Madero, Retiro, Recoleta,

Palermo. And in San Telmo we will experience the ancient subterranean tunnels. The

construction of tunnels started in the colonial era, and continued well into the 19th

political conspiracies. We'll visit one of those tunnels, a part of a 3,000 square meter

labyrinth below the streets of San Telmo: it's a long corridor with vaulted ceiling with

display cabinets exhibiting many items and utensils found underground.

In the evening tour to the "Milongas" (Tango saloons). Even if Tango is a typically

Buenos Aires' product, in recent years it has experienced a real boom, thanks to

visitors and also to the new Argentinean generations who have set themselves to

reclaim their rich heritage. Indeed, the young have revitalized the itinerating

"Milongas" circuit, establishments where people of very different ages, origins and

social situations dance until very late at night the most authentic form of Tango (also

called Milonga), away from the spotlights of the commercial circuit. Each Milonga has

its own working hours, its own dancing style and its own crowd; we'll visit two of them,

depending on the day the tour is scheduled. Entry tickets for 2 Milongas.

presence of the mountain named Shimil, which is a reference that we are in the

highest point. Continue to Maras Salt Mines. It is a small brine spring worked with

very elementary means by a part of the population of Maras and Pichingoto. These

archaeological ruins reveal that this resource was already well-known and used at pre

- Hispanic time, it could have been one of the many sources of supply of salt for the

Inca village. The technique for the extraction of the salt has been very similar to that

used one for nine hundred years or more. During all these centuries this technology

has been conserved and that consists of a true hydraulic engineer installation but of

miniature, since the pool has relatively small dimensions, constructed in shapes of

platforms on one of the slopes of the gorge. Each pool has an entrance channel and

vents the water, this way the steam is expected to come out and later the salt grain

that is settled in the floor is gathered. The extraction is seasonal; it's done in dry

season, from May to November or at the beginning of December. Continue from the

salt mines hiking down the hill to Pichingoto Village. Pichingoto is a Quechua

Community seated in the base of the basaltic mountain of " Qoriq' aqya" with houses

whose facades are done of adobes but whose interior is wrought in the mountain,

they are small caverns or caves that are in the heat of inhabited century XX. Some

indicate that the name comes from "pichinco" = Bird and t' oqo = hollow or hole; their

inhabitants consider descendants of birds and apparently until the first decades of the

present century they inhabited caves in the high part to the other side of the mountain

where the cords aid of and stairs climbed with. The origins of that community are lost

in the dark of the past and it thinks that sometimes they lived in Maras reason why

today also are here last names very common in the district. Continue walking crossing

the river and arriving to Urubamba town. Overnight in Sacred Valley.

Day 4 SACRED VALLEYEarly in the morning we pick you up from the hotel and drive through the Andes to the

spectacular views of the mountains and archaeological remains, passing down to

Ollantaytambo and its Inca terraces and we find rapids class II and III finishing with

"El Resbaladero" (the slippery one) which a strong class III rapid that includes waves

and small whirlpools. In the take out we dry off and change cloths, we will have a

picnic lunch at the side of the river. We will enjoy the spectacular Andean cuisine and

"Pako" an Andean Shaman will prepare your offerings and present them to the

Pachamama. This ceremony may take place either in the hotel gardens or in an Inca

offering will be burnt. Mysticism and culture will be the highlights of this one in a

Lost City of the Incas, which sits upon the summit bearing the same name, and is one

of the most representative and recognized examples of Incan architecture. We will

walk through the different areas of the city: the agriculture and urban zone, featuring

temples and dwellings; and the Intihuatana, or sun dial, finely carved out of stone.
