Everyfieldofhumanendeavorhasitsownformofcompetition,fromathletictournamentstoacademicbowlstovariouscontestsofskills.Competitionorsomeformofassessmentbyrenownedprofes-sionalsinachosenfieldofferspractitionersawaytogaugeachievementandtoredefinegoalsastheydevelop.

Artisnodifferent.Thoughcompe-titioninthefieldofvisualartsismoresub-jectivethananathleticracewheretheclockisthejudge,professionalartcompetitionsdoexistintheformof“juriedexhibitions.”Artistssubmittheirartworktobereviewedbytheexhibitionjuror,whoselectswhichpieceswillbeshowninthegallery.Thejuroralsochoosesawards.

Juriedartexhibitionscanbefoundtuckedinalmosteverycorneroftheworld.Notsurprisingly,thevarietyofshowsdiffersalmostasmuchasthediverseplacestheyarefound.TheLyndonHouseArtsCenterJuriedExhibitionisheldforaculturedandeducatedcommunity,hometohighnumbersofartists,manyofwhomexhibitnationallyandinternationally.Theexhibitionhasat-tractedtopprofessionalsintheartworldasjurorsandishighlyanticipatedeachyearbyartists,patronsandthegeneralpublicalike.
