late thank you

January 26, 2006 Dear , Thank you so very much for your generous contribution last spring to my Senate campaign. Please forgive my undue delay in depositing your check and then sending you a letter of thanks. I do hope I did not cause you any major problems with this delay. The 2005 Legislative session was a busy one for me. I believe the citizens of New Hampshire can take great pride in some of the accomplishments we made. We were able to save the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from closing, thus protecting thousands of jobs as well as our state’s economy. We took great steps towards fixing the issue of donor and receivership towns and almost completely eliminated the system of donor communities in our state. Finally, we were able to repeal the costly and unfair healthcare bill, known as SB 110. This will help small businesses, in most cases, more easily afford healthcare coverage for their employees. During the 2006 session, my top legislative priorities include repealing the statewide property tax (enhanced education tax), creating a renewable energy portfolio to lessen our dependence on oil, providing greater transparency within our healthcare system and protecting private property rights through strengthening the state’s eminent domain language. I will also be working hard to support the Governor’s initiative to change the dropout rate from 16 to 18, to strengthen our child protection law and to ensure ethics in government.

Dear ,

Thank you so very much for your generous contribution last spring to my Senate campaign.

Thank you once again for your continued commitment to my campaign. I look forward to working with you during the 2006 Legislative session.

With heartfelt thanks,

Martha

P.S. Once again, please do accept my apology for the undue delay in sending you my gratitude and appreciation.
