The KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Berhad(LATAR Expressway) recently announced that it isthe Malaysian’s first highway company in KlangValley to open 24-hours service for the motoriststo reload their Touch n’ Go card at its lanes atPlaza Tol Kuang Timur and Plaza Tol Kuang Baratbeginning 1 March 2012.

According to LATAR Expressway Chief ExecutiveOfficer, En Amran Amir, “With the opening of 24-hours Tambah Nilai (Reload) lanes at Plaza TolKuang Timur and Kuang Barat, we offer easyavailability and accessibility as motorists are ableto top-up their Touch n’ Go cards on the highway

at ANY TIME without any hassle or having toleave the highway.”

“However motorists can still top-up their Touchn’ Go cards at all Customer Service Centrelocated on the highway during office hours from8.30 am until 8.30 pm. Service fees will not becharged for any reloads at the customer servicecentre and desinated lanes at LATARExpressway.”

The 33 km LATAR Expressway links Kuala Lumpurand Kuala Selangor. Along the way, its fourinterchanges also adds to the connectivity of

eral townships such as Kuala Selangor, Assama, Ijok, Bestari Jaya (Batang Berjuntai), Kotaeri, Puncak Alam, Shah Alam, Bukit Jelutong,gai Buloh, Kundang, Rawang and Selayang asl as allows for a faster, safer choice to thees of Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur fromse townships.

AR Expressway aims at promoting faster,easier and more efficient use of Electronic TollPayment System (ETPS) as the mode of tollpayment. The rewarding of free Touch n’ Go-LATAR Commemorative Cards to the loyal usersof LATAR Expressway recently achieved toincrease the use of Touch n’ Go cards as a modeof toll payment on LATAR Expressway by morethan 40% compared to cash paying motorists. Bythe year end, we are expecting to achieve morethan 50% users using the Touch n’ Go card onLATAR Expressway.

Since it’s operations on 23rd June2011, Latar Expressway has beenserving the public well in thenorthen region of the Klang Valley.This has resulted in many of thoseusing this expressway to havesuccessfully saved time and money.As such we have received manyvisitors who use the higway as wellas other road builders to ourcomplex in order to understand andappreciate this expressway.

Recently, KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATARExpressway) Bhd took part in a programme called ProgramMinggu 3K (Cleanliness, Safety & Health Week) hosted bySMK Seri Kundang from 9th to 13th April 2012. During thelaunch of the event LATAR sponsored in cash and two unitsof Emergency Telephone Number signage for the school.

The programme was officiated by Y.Bhg Dato’ Ir MohamadRazali bin Othman, Chairman of LATAR Expressway,witnessed by Puan Hajah Noraizan binti Brahim, Principalof SMK Seri Kundang and En Mohd Khairi Abdullah,Chairman of PIBG SMK Seri Kundang. It was fun to accomplish all tasks i.e.stepping on bricks, solve puzzles, soak &drip, blowing up balloons and findinghidden items. It’s sound simple but it stillneeds a good strategy and teamwork.Sometimes, at our age (not old but alittle above the teenage level), suchgames like Quarry Race is good tostimulate our ‘oomph’ and energize our‘battery’. Indeed the game requiresgood planning, attitude and teamworkto accomplish the tasks successfully.

On Saturday, 21st April 2012, Bina Puri Sarawak Sport and Social Club organiseda blood donation campaign at UiTM Sarawak Project Site. The attendees werefrom our panel Clinic, UNIMAS Sebayor Hospital and assisted by nurses andmedical personnel from NORMAH Specialist Hospital.

The campaign ran smoothly with 25 donors in the beginning but ended up with28 donors who needed a little bit encouragement and support from othersespecially for those who were the first timers. Besides Bina Puri staff, there weredonors from sub-contractors and daily paid workers.

Recently, on 15 & 16 May 2012, LATARsuccessfully organised a Training Session forYoung Professionals Programme-Seminar onRoad Safety Audit (RSA) with MalaysianHighway Authority (LLM) at Intekma Resort &Convention Centre, Shah Alam. Theparticipants were from LLM, LATAR and PLUS.

The main objective of the seminar is to givemaximum exposure to the participants on theimportant elements in RSA which coveredfrom Stage 1 to Stage 5 of RSA. In addition,two other topics, namely on Highway PaveShoulder and Green Technology were alsoincluded.

The first day started with the welcome speechby Dato’ Ir Haji Mohamad Razali Othman,Chairman of LATAR Expressway and the firstsession started with the topic of Stage 1-3 ofRSA by Ir Amran bin Alias and was continuedby Ir Mohamed Shafii bin Haji Mustafa for nextsession on Stage 4 of RSA; Making the UnsafeSafe.

The morning session of the second daycontinued with Stage 5 of RSA by Ir Che Ali binChe Hitam and Highway Pave Shoulder by EnMohd Hadzmir bin Yusof, Director of ProjectMonitoring & Development, LLM. In theafternoon, the session was a talk on GreenTechnology by En Mohd Fadhil bin Razmi,Administration & Diplomatic Officer, Ministryof Energy, Green Technology and Water.

The training ended at 5 pm with the closingspeech by En Mohd Saleh bin Santhiman,Deputy Chief Director (Development), LLM.
