Lasell College, founded in1851, is one of the oldest institutionsof higher learning in the Boston area.Lasell offers nearly 40 undergraduateand graduate academic programs alltaught through Lasell’s connected learningapproach to education, which integrateschallenging coursework with practical

Undergraduate ProgramsIn addition to more than 30 undergraduatemajors, Lasell College offers a full-timecredit-bearing ESL program for studentswishing to develop skills and confidence inEnglish. This program places students in asupportive advising structure with specialattention given to the individual student’slevel of language ability, structured ESLtutoring and assistance in the support fortransition to American culture and theAmerican system of higher education.Lasell’s international community

represents students from China, Indonesia,Russia, Venezuela,Pakistan, The Republicof Panama, Singapore, Netherland Antillies,Nigeria, Nepal and Vietnam.

Undergraduate international students mustbe enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits persemester to be considered full time.

Graduate & Professional StudiesThe Lasell graduate community ismade up of a combination of students,recent college and university grad-uates and working professionals.

Approximately 14 percent ofLasell’s graduate community iscomprised of internationalstudents. Graduate courses runin either a flexible hybrid formator 100% online. Internationalstudents are advised to enroll in thehybrid courses where assignmentsare online and the class meets withthe instructor one night everyother week. On-campus classesrun from 6:30-9:00 P.M. Full-timegraduate study is 9 credits or 3courses per semester. Internationalstudents can complete a degreeprogram in 20 months and agraduate certificate in 6 months.

Lasell boasts small class sizes(99% of Lasell’s classes have fewer than30 students), a student-to-faculty ratioof 13:1, and provides each student withthe hands-on experience that leads toconvincing resume or graduate schoolapplication. Lasell’s location puts studentswithin easy reach of the cultural, healthcare, and business opportunities of theGreater Boston area.

The Application ProcessLasell College welcomes internationalstudents with the appropriate academicpreparation, the drive and determinationrequired to succeed in the college environ-ment, and sufficient financial support.Lasell recognizes international applicants

as students who are either citizens orpermanent residents of a country otherthan the United States, and who arelooking to further their education inthe U.S .Lasell offers rolling admission. However,

international applicants are encouragedto begin the application process early.Undergraduate applicants should submitthe following information to the Officeof Admission.

• Personal Writing Statement (Essay)You are required to write an essay on atopic of your choice or a topic listed inthe Common Application. The essaymust be your original thought andshould be double-spaced and typed.

• Two Letters of RecommendationYou are required to obtain one letter froma counselor or a teacher who can speak toyour academic strengths and talents. Thesecond recommendation may come fromany source.

• TOEFL or other EnglishProficiency ExamApplicants whose primary language isnot English must be able to demonstrateproficiency in reading and writingEnglish. Therefore, internationalapplicants are required to submit anofficial Test of English as a ForeignLanguage (TOEFL). Lasell encouragesstudents with a minimum score of 525paper-based TOEFL, a 71 IBT or a 197on the computer-based TOEFL to apply.Scores should be sent directly to LasellCollege by Educational Testing Service(ETS). Please note: The InternationalEnglish Language Testing Systems (IELTS)may be substituted for the

Graduate Application Require-mentsGraduate Program candidates may applyto begin in September, January or May.Lasell abides by a rolling admission policywhere applications are promptly reviewedupon completion. • $40 application fee• Two letters of recommendation• Personal statement• Official Bachelor’s Degree transcript,translated into English if necessary

• Financial Declaration Form• TOEFL Score minimum requirementof 550 (pbt)

TOEFL exam. A minimum score onthe IELTS is a 5.5 band score. The SATor ACTmay also be submitted. Lasell’sETS code is: 3481

• Financial DeclarationInternational students must submitthe Financial Declaration Form toshow evidence of their ability to payeducational and living expenses whileat Lasell College. This FinancialDeclaration Form is required in orderto obtain the I-20 Form, which isnecessary to receive an F-1 studentVisa.
