H2020 y la INNOVACIÓN
"Our focus is on supporting the best research ideas that provide major business
opportunities"Commissioner Geoghegan-Quinn
30 Nov 2011
"Europe needs… an integrated approach from research and
innovation to market deployment."
EU Council Conclusions
24/25 October 2013
29 (09/12/2016)
En palabras de la CE…
Tightly couple research with innovation!!!!
• Address Research and Innovation from lab to market
• Encourage both incremental and disruptive innovation
• Consider a closer relationship between research and entrepreneurship
• Put SMEs in the lead in delivering innovations to the market.
• Keep in mind that evaluators from the business and investor domains will
probably be involved in the selection process (e.g. Investors (VCs, BAs) and
market experts)
• Consider coupling the last phases of your project with cumulative funding:
access to risk capital for innovative SMEs & midcaps
• Ensure a clear emphasis on innovation EVERYWHERE in your proposal!!!

Note: For 'Innovation' actions the score for 'impact' will be
weighted by a factor of 1.5
La importancia de la nota del Impacto
32 (09/12/2016)
Lo que un evaluador esperaría ver…
• The expected impacts listed in the work programme under the relevant topic;
• Enhancing innovation capacity and integration of new knowledge;
• Strengthening the competitiveness and growth of companies by developing innovations
meeting the needs of European and global markets, and where relevant, by delivering such
innovations to the markets;
• Any other environmental and socially important impacts;
• Effectiveness of the proposed measures to exploit and disseminate the project results (including management of IPR), to communicate the project, and to manage research data
where relevant.

• Note that “plan for the dissemination and exploitation” as
requested in the template refers to TWO DIFFERENT PLANS
• Business Plan should include:
• Exploitable results and key applications
• Description of the IPR and exploitation team and their work during the project
• Market potential areas and how to further analyse them
• Business model: identification of main clients, marketing strategy
• Financial projections: sales forecast, investment needed cumulative funding
(synergies with other funds)
• Commercialization roadmaps
• Tightly couple your business plan with the implementationpart
40 (09/12/2016)
Plan de Negocio: Primer EjemploBusiness Plan
• Un consorcio con 4 empresas (50% del consorcio) obtiene 13,5
puntos en la evaluación de su RIA (5 + 4 + 4,5).
The market is well identified and the potential impact on each sector is clearly explained.
Furthermore KPIs are identified. These can measure the number of systems improved and the
scientific and dissemination impacts, and help in monitoring project progress.
The initial exploitation strategy of the individual partners is well described. However, the strategyto address the identified markets is not very detailed in the sectors of …
Aunque a
veces sí…
43 (09/12/2016)
The description of impact on the targeted market lacks details. Claimed economical impactseems slightly overestimated given the size of the market. Societal impact on safety/security and
health applications are convincingly described. Besides XX detection, the described benefits in
other application areas are credible.
Exploitation plans well address the cases of the individual components, although the case of theintegrated system is not sufficiently described.
presupuesto destinado a PYMES! ¿PYME integradora?
46 (09/12/2016)
• Cadena de valor del proyecto
• Tecnologías o soluciones transectoriales o transferibles y varias

a nuestro objetivo.
Impacto en H2020 - Conclusiones
