Las Líneas de Nasca en Perú

“The Nazca Lines”

• The Nazca Lines are located on over 52 miles of Peruvian desert.

• Are a great mystery because of their quantity and size…many theories as to their purpose exist.

• Many individual figures including simple lines, geometric shapes, hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, dog, sharks or whales, llamas, lizards, and an astronaut stand out.

• Discovered accidentally from an airplane in flight in 1927. By the end of the 1980's new lines were discovered.

• Some observation towers can be found along roadways, which allow a limited vision of the lines. There are walking tours too….BUT

• The only real way to appreciate them in all their magnitude, given their gigantic size, is flying over the area. There are flights everyday, several times a day from Nasca or Lima.
