LARRP August SpotlightThe New LARRP Education Committee
We are thrilled to highlight the new LARRP EducationCommittee which held its inaugural meeting in July andwill be meeting the third Thursday of every month atvarious campuses around the Los Angeles area
We are recruiting members for this exciting newCommittee!
We hope our work will help generate other significantopportunities, through the LARRP partnership itself - toother community-based services through the Housingand Employment Committees - and through partnershipwith the educational institutions - to increaseopportunities for professional development, educationand awareness for the teachers and administratorsworking with this population. Other long-term goals andopportunities include data tracking and collection, andadvocacy.

Veronica Lewis joins statewideadvisory group on Prop 64 funds
Our fearless leader Veronica Lewis,Chair of LARRP Steering Committee andHousing Committee, and ExecutiveDirector of HOPICS SSG, was selectedto serve on the statewide Prop 64 YouthFund Advisory Group! Proposition 64created a unique opportunity to bringnew tax funded resources to youth andcommunities of color most impacted bythe war on drugs. The state Departmentof Health Care Services (DHCS) is incharge of distributing a Youth Fund(Youth Education, Prevention, EarlyIntervention and Treatment Account) tosupport substance abuse prevention,intervention and treatment services foryouth.
This Advisory Group will determine howthe dollars will be distributed for youth
