As representing the first show on the after- noon shift of the last day, I 'd like to express my appreciation for the fact that there are more people in the audience than there are on the panel. It must be the excellence of the audience or the charm of the presentors that have kept you here, because I have seen our colleagues "leaking" out of the front door of this hotel for the past day and a half.

We have the very latest developments in diagnosis and treatment for this knotty

problem, and I 'd like to introduce the mem- bers of the panel in the order of their appearance, which will be a bit different from that shown in the manual.

Mr. R. J. Heald, Consultant Surgeon, Basingstoke, England, will give the first pres- entation, in which he will at tempt to out- line the parameters of the atmosphere to which we will confine our remarks. Dr. James T. Adams, Associate Professor of Surgery, University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, will be the second discussant; Dr. Ra lp h @ Alfidi, Director of the Department of Hospital Radiology at the Cleveland Clinic, will follow him, and Dr. Stanley Baum, Professor of Radiology, Harvard Medical School, will be our clean- up hitter.
