REPUBLIC DAY: CELEBRATING DEMOCRACY
Army Public School, Nehru Road, Lucknow celebrated the 69th Republic Day with great patriotic zest and fervour.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brig Ajit Kapoor, Brig Arty, HQCC & Chairman of the School. The
Guest of Honour was Mrs Abha Kapoor. They were welcomed by the Offg Principal, Ms Namita Mahajan.
The programme commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chief Guest. The Four Houses and the
NCC contingent marched past the saluting base to the accompaniment of the band in all their regalia.
The newly designated Head Boy, Meetendra Srivastava and the Head Girl, Vasudha Upreti delivered
overwhelming speeches to mark the occasion. Patriotic songs sung by the students touched everyone’s heart.
Kamet House Girls and Trishul House Boys were declared the Best Marching Contingents.
The speech given by the Chief Guest exhorted our students to pave the way for a better and brighter tomorrow.
The programme culminated with the distribution of chocolates among the students.
SCHOOL EXCELLENCE AWARD
It is indeed a matter of great pride that Army Public School, Nehru Road, Lucknow has been conferred with the
School Excellence Award for being amongst the top 500 CBSE schools of India in the category of Best
Community & Collaborative/ICT Implementation/Best in Sports Education School. The award was received
by the Offg Principal, Ms Namita Mahajan at a function organized by Brainfeed at Hilton Garden Inn,
Lucknow.

BON VOYAGE: GOODBYE TWELFTHIES
With every year that passes by, ends a glorious & an eventful academic session. With dreams in their eyes &
determination in their steps, the senior most batch of Army Public School, Nehru Road finished the last year of
their schooling to step out into the new world, bidding adieu to the portals of their Alma Mater. To mark the
occasion, a special assembly was organized by the students of class XI for their seniors. The Head Boy & the Head
Girl expressed their thoughts on their memorable school years. It was a joyous & a tearful moment for the XII
students as they completed twelve wonderful years in the school. The Offg Principal, Ms Namita Mahajan
motivated the students & urged them to perform well in the upcoming Board exams. The Farewell Party, held on
the same day was a grand affair. Music, Ramp walk & games were the highlights of the party. The DJ played
music which made everyone tap their feet and dance merrily. The chief attraction was the Sash-Giving ceremony.
Later, a cake was cut by the Head Boy, Head Girl & the Offg Principal. Their journey into the new world began
with the best wishes of the teaching fraternity.
A farewell party was also arranged on 27 Jan in the Boys’ Hostel to bid good bye to all Class XII students residing
in the School Hostel.

PROUD MOMENT
Sumit Rai, an alumnus of 2016 batch of this School,
was awarded the All India Best NCC Cadet Prize
during the Republic Day Parade at New Delhi by our
Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. Sumit
has now been selected as the Youth Ambassador of
India to Russia.
YUVA SANGAM ONLINE PRESENTATION
COMPETITION
In the Yuva Sangam Online Presentation Competition
organised by UP Government in association with IIT
Kanpur, our students Arya Singh (XI E), Anushka
Shukla (Batch 2015), Ingeela Kazmi (Batch 2015),
Rakshita Singh (Batch 2015) & Suyash Gupta (Batch
2014) won the Runners Up position in the state. They
were felicitated by the UP Governor, Mr Ram Naik
and the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath at a function
organised on the occasion of UP Diwas at Shilp Gram,
Lucknow.
LUCKNOW MAHOTSAV QUIZ
Samriddhi Singh and Gauri Tiwari (VIII B) clinched
the 1st Position in a Quiz Competition based on
Lucknow & Uttar Pradesh, organised during the
Lucknow Mahotsav. They received a cheque of Rs 5000/-
along with books and a Trophy from Mrs. Rita
Bahuguna Joshi, Minister of Tourism and Women,
Child & Family Welfare, Uttar Pradesh.

PAINTING COMPETITION
Sumit Singh Dafouti (XIB),
brought laurels to the School
by getting his painting
selected for the ICS
Calendar 2018 in the
category of collage.

Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan Online Exam was
conducted by Vigyan Bharti in collaboration with
NCERT on 3 Dec 2017. The results have been
declared now. Our students acquired following

49 Students have been awarded Merit Certificates by

COLOROTHON FESTIVAL
During the Colorothon Festival at Lohiya Park, Anil
Singh (XIIH) created history by painting on a 104
Kg Cake, which boasts of being the largest cake
ever made in Lucknow. Well done!!
NATIONAL SCIENCE FAIR
Rohan Srivastava & Saavani Karkhanis (XA)
participated in the National Science Fair at National
Science City, New Delhi. They displayed their
Project on ‘Hologram which had acquired the 1st
Position in the City Level.
