Port Wine and Cheese Tasting
Serra da Estrela cheese – goes back to the XII century
and is one of the oldest and most renowned Portuguese
cheeses.
A cured cheese, with a soft texture, white or yellowed
colored paste.
Made from sheep milk in the Serra da Estrela region.
Nisa cheese – Comes from the high Alentejo region called
Nisa.
Made from sheep milk, it’s a semi hard cheese with a
white to yellow coloration. Its production involves the
coagulation of the raw milk from which the curd is
removed using a thistle infusion
Castelo Branco cheese – is a typical cheese found in the
Castelo Branco area. It’s produced using only sheep milk
and is a white colored cheese.

Port Wine and Cheese Tasting
LBV – Late Bottled Vintage Port Wine
Like its name suggests, it is a wine similar to the vintage,
but one that is bottled at a later stage. It has an intense red
color, which is often dark, with a fruity aroma, great
finesse and distinction. Its massive structure and
ampleness in the mouth are due to its enormous
concentration of tannins and sugars.

Tawny Port Wine
These are superior quality wines, resulting in the blending
of wines from different harvests, aged in caskets or
wooden vats, their average age indicated on the label.
The wineries produce these wines just as an image of
prestige and to help sell the younger wines. However, they
are unmissable for the degree of aromatic complexity,
equilibrium, elegance and sophistication that a Port can
reach.
Vintage Port Wines
This is, for many appreciators, the master piece of Port
wine, materializing the goodness that Nature has blessed
the Region of the Douro and the genius in which the
Portuguese and the English knew, along the centuries, to
create a unique and irreproducible wine. Like the
masterpiece that it is, it is only produced sporadically with
the best grapes from the vineyards and in years which the
climatic conditions are exceptional from the beginning
until the end of the cycle. The precociousness of the
bottling, leads to a very slow aging oxidation, helping to
preserve the intense color and the exuberant aromas of
fresh grapes.

Function Guarantee
Lapa Palace requires an approximate number of guests five working days prior to the event. It is of the responsibility of
the client to advise the final guaranteed number of guests to the hotel a minimum of two working days prior to the
event. Failure to do so, the original contracted number will be charged, or the actual number of guests served, whichever
is greater.
However, Lapa Palace may be able to only guarantee service up to 10% above the contracted guest numbers.
Lapa Palace reserves the right to provide an alternative function room best suited for the event should the number of
guests attending the function differ from the original number contracted.
A minimum of 10 people is required for all functions. An additional labour charge of € 300,00 applies to food and
beverage events with attendance of less than 10 people in a private room.
Decoration
All of our rates include standard seasonal flower decoration on each table. Buffets and cocktails include the decoration
of the buffet tables as well.
Should you require special decoration our Banqueting Department will be pleased to assist you or suggest an external
supplier.
Audiovisuals
Full assistance and service is provided by our supplier and can be arranged through our Banqueting Department.

The hotel disposes of an indoor parking with a capacity for up to 100 cars.
Valet parking is complimentary according to our availability.
Food & Beverage
Due to strict HACCP regulations the hotel is not allowed to serve any food that has not been prepared by our staff
inside our kitchens.
For wines and liqueurs brought by the client, a service charge will be applied per bottle, and only brands authorized by
our Banqueting Department may be used.
Smoking in Function Rooms
All function rooms and foyers are designated non-smoking areas. However, smoking is permitted in the Eça de Queiroz
Smoking Lounge, and the outside courtyards.

Signage
Lapa Palace provides signage of the events taking place in the hotel by the entrance on the main lobby. All other signage
may only be displayed directly outside the designated rooms with prior approval from the Banqueting Department.
Lapa Palace reserves the right to remove without prior notice signage that is not prepared in a professional way or
displayed in non-authorized areas
All signage should be free standing and placed away from walls and light fittings. Lapa Palace will provide a
complimentary stand for your signage (up to one stand per function room).
No items may be affixed to the walls, ceiling and floors by the use of nails, drawing pins, tape or any other means.
Damages
The client will be entirely responsible for any losses or damages inflicted to the property by the client, its guests,
independent contractor arranged by the client, or by their representatives.
Lapa Palace cannot be held responsible for any damage or loss of any merchandise, articles or valuables belonging to the
host or their guests located in the hotel to, during or subsequent to any function.
Entertainment
For the organization of your dinner, dance, cocktail or any other type of entertainment you may need, our Banqueting
Department will be pleased to help you in arranging the best suppliers.

Storage and Distribution
Lapa Palace will assist you in receiving and storing all packages and boxes related to your event. Please make sure that all
packages and boxes sent to the hotel are correctly labeled including the name of the event, the client contact person, the
hotel contact person function date.
Should you wish to place gifts in the rooms, Lapa Palace is pleased to offer you the first gift delivery. A charge of € 5,00
per room per gift will be applicable for additional or personalized deliveries.
Client representatives will not be allowed to perform gift deliveries in the guest rooms if not accompanied by a hotel
staff member.
The hotel will not receive or sign for cash-on-delivery shipments unless prior arrangements have been made in writing
with the hotel.
Lapa Palace cannot be held responsible for damage or loss of any article left on the premises before, during or after an
event.
Telephone and Internet Access
Telephones with direct outside line are available in all meeting rooms. Calls will be charged at current hotel rates.
All function rooms have High Speed Internet Access through our global Wi-Fi network.
