PRINCIPALrsquoS REPORT

PRINCIPAL APPOINTMENT I would like to thank everyone for their warm wishes and congratulations on my Principal appointment to Langwarrin Park Primary School I feel proud and humbled to be leading such a wonderful school community I am looking forward to leading our school into the future and to build on all the achievements we have made together over the last four years STUDENT ENROLMENTS I am now building a workforce plan for next year and need to have clarity on our student numbers We currently have 71 students enrolled in Foundation next year Just an important reminder that if you have not got your childrsquos enrolment form returned to the office could you please do it at your earliest convenience Also if you know you will be leaving at the end of the year can you please let the office know REMOTE LEARNING UPDATE Our teachers parents and students have continued to do such a brilliant job at delivering a high quality and engaging curriculum throughout Term 3 We have taken a deliberate approach to ensure that all our teachers have maintained close connections with their students and parents A great addition to our remote learning program was our specialist team moving to a lsquoface to facersquo teaching space We have received positive feedback from students and parents regarding these sessions and it will continue to happen whilst we remain in the remote learning space

We recently sent out a parent survey to get their feedback about our remote learning program and the response was highly positive Main themes that were identified through the survey was the increased amount of connection time and teachers providing fantastic supports for their child

We still are unsure what Term 4 will look like and we have had conversations with our Year level leaders around building contingencies for all students working in the remote space some year levels being onsite and all students being onsite Fingers crossed we have everyone back onsite to start Term 4 Again on behalf of all our staff I canrsquot thank you enough for everything you have done across this term Teachers have greatly enjoyed reading the gratitude wall that has been online for the last week and this has left a positive impact on them END OF TERM ASSEMBLY Next Friday we will be having an end of term Footy Colours Assembly I will let you know early next week more about this assembly and it would be great to see everyone jump in for this wearing their favourite footy colourshellip which is of course the Mighty Dees Have a great final week everyone

QR CODE REQUIREMENTS IN SCHOOLS The use of Service Victoria QR codes for electronic record keeping is mandatory for all workplaces to enable the effective contact tracing of any COVID-19 cases This now includes schools The public health intent of including schools in the QR code check in system for workplaces is to capture those visitors accessing school buildings or indoor facilities but not those entering the school grounds for reasons such as school pick up QR codes will be required to be used by

bull all visitors including contractors external Department staff and building and maintenance staff

bull all parents who enter buildings when on the school site

QR code check ins will not be required for staff or students or parents who come onto school grounds for drop off or pick up but do not enter buildings

YEAR TWO REMOTE LEARNING Our year 2s have shared some wonderful pieces of work with their teachers Arcade Games Fractions Capacity Narrative writing and a whole lot of exciting stem activities to keep them thinkinghellip We have had a lot of laughs in our morning meetings special days such pet day crazy hair and lazy PJ days Well done on a great term mostly in remote learning We look forward to seeing you back at school soon

The last couple of weeks have been very busy In our lsquoliversquo Performing Arts students have been involved in a variety of activities from working with puppets action rhymes singing yoga and line dancing to name a few

LPPS STAFF GUESS WHO To end the week we are proud to present a fun video of our LPPS staff as babies This is the ultimate LPPS GUESS WHO and includes lots of little known fun facts about our teachers and support staff It was designed to give you a smile and help keep you feeling connected to our School Community We are all in this together as always Head to DOJO School Story for the link
