The landforms of India are:-

THE GREAT MOUNTAINS OF NORTH

Location:- North India.

Extent and Climate:- 32,87,263 Sq. km and 18 degrees Celsius.

States they are located:- Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh.

Lifestyle of the people in these areas:-

Adaptation of the animals in these landforms:- Thick skin, Heavy fur, Hooved foot

THE GREAT NORTHERN PLAINS OF INDIA

Location:- South of Himalayan region.

Extent and Climate:- 1,420,540 km2 and 10 degrees Celsius.

States they are located:- Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh.

Lifestyle of the people in these areas:- Woman's wear sarees and men's wear kurta pyjamas.

Adaptation of the animals in these landforms:- Thick skin, Heavy fur.

THE PENINSULAR PLATEAU

Location:- Southern India.

Extent and Climate:- 3,287,264 km2 and 25 degrees Celsius.

States they are located:- Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

Lifestyle of the people in these areas:- Agriculture.

Adaptation of the animals in these landforms:- Elephants, Tiger, Gaur and Buffalo.

THE GREAT INDIAN DESERT

Location:- Rajasthan.

Extent and Climate:- 320,000 km2 and 41 degrees Celsius.

States they are located:- Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat.

Lifestyle of the people in these areas:- Woodwork, wool-weaving, leather work, jewellery-making, cloth-dyeing, embroidery, snake-charming, agriculture, herd-grazing.

Adaptation of the animals in these landforms:- Reptiles, Camels, etc.

THE COASTAL PLAINS

Location:- Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea.

Extent and Climate:- Western coastal plain- 50 km, Eastern coastal plain-100 to 130 km.

States they are located:- Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Lifestyle of the people in these areas:- Fishing.

Adaptation of the animals in these landforms:- Have thin fur.

THE ISLANDS

Location:- Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Extent and Climate:- 8,073 km2 and 32 km2.

States they are located:- ------

Lifestyle of the people in these areas:- Tribes.

Adaptation of the animals in these landforms:- Crabs and Snails, Turtles etc.
