LAND TOURS

For those of you who really take pleasure in nature, Sierra Madre Canopy Tours are definitely. Canopy Tours involve sliding from one high level forest platform to another along a steel cable suspended up to 200 hundred meters above the Cuale River. Originally tree top canopy slides were designed to allow biologists access to mysterious forest canopies in order to study the hard to get at plant that lives high up the trees. The tour consists of 12 platforms and slides that wind down through an unspoiled forest-ed valley and ancient rocky gorge. Two trained guides will accompany each group of ten persons for the duration of the tour and ensure the safety of the tourists while pointing out any interesting plants, birds or animals along the way. Your Mexian canopy tour will began with a safety briefing. Your guides will demonstrate how to slide on the cables and will inform you of any safety procedures that need to be adhered to on the tour. Thereafter you will be equipped with a full body harness, pulley, climbing equipment and safety helmet. From the start, an entire new world unveils itself as one as you slide gen-tly through the forest. Once arriving at each platform we stop for a while and breathe in the fresh air while admiring the spectacular scenery of the forest around you and the River underneath you (in some of them we’ll provide you with a drinkable, purified water to refresh you. The tour lasts for 3 hrs. Our trip begins in our headquarters, the first 20 minutes you drive through the villages on cobble stoned roads and after the cobble stoned roads goes to the mountains. We will travel through small towns to the Valley of Vallejo. This place has several scenic panoramic views and creek´s that we will cross before we get to the ranch called PILITAS. Here we will have a brake for 20 to 30 minutes so you can swim in the fresh water or just enjoy the beauty of the surroundings of this natural place in the rain forest very rich in plants and flowers, as well wild life. A first chance to meet the dolphins; learn and have fun! This interactive program allows swimmers of all abilities to learn more about dolphins while standing in waist-deep water in the seawater lagoon. Your experience begins with an educational session introducing you to the dolphins where you will learn about the bottlenose dolphin’s anatomy, physiology, natural history and animal training.

Then you are ready to enter the water where trainers introduce you to the dolphins. Groups of no more than 8 people get an incredible eye-to-eye look at the dolphins, feel their smooth skin, give training signals and even feed the dolphin during the 15 minute session.

The program is lasts 45 minutes including orientation. Groups are limited to eight people per dolphin to ensure that you have the most personal experience. Programs run daily.

Our dolphin center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to research and education on dolphins and other marine mammals and we always have the best interest of our animals in mind. We will not employ training strategies or offer forms of interaction that are harmful to our dol-phins to maintain a fun and safe environment for both our animals and our visitors. During this program, we will make you an actual member of our training team and allow you to work alongside us both by the poolside and in the water. Help us feed the dolphins and assist trainers as they apply Behavioral training techniques. You will be with our trainers at all times to witness every aspect of what the work of a dolphin Trainer entails. If you want to know more about dolphins and get as close to them as you can, this is the opportunity of a lifetime.

As we follow these magnificent mammals across Banderas Bay, our professional guides' knowledge and insight will give you a deeper understanding and appreciation for the wildlife that you'll encounter on this unforgettable whale watching experience.

There is no such thing as a "typical day" on this adventure tour, because often it is the "wild ones" (the whales and dolphins) who are in charge of the daily itinerary. We can't always predict where they are, so we will let them guide us along their preferred route of the day.
