The music, lessons, fellowship and food were the best!! Thanks to all the faithful ladies who turned out and kept bible study a part of their summer plans!

The first Tuesday night Ladies Bible Study
will be held Tuesday, October 2 at 6 pm. We
will continue to use the monthly lessons
found in the ELCA Gather Magazine. This
fall's Bible study focuses on the theme of
repentance. This study helps us explore how
repentance shapes our relationship with God,
our relationships with others and our
communal relationship with the world. We
meet at the church from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The printouts, bibles and snacks are available
for everyone, so stop in on your way home
and join us!

Catechumenate Becoming the Story We Tell…
Today, September 16th at noon, we
invite you to join an informative meeting on Catechumenate and how we will implement it
into our daily church life and life at home.
Our desire is to start a Catechumenate Task
Force to help us apply all the teachings Pastor and a few others got to enjoy last summer at
Phinney Ridge in Seattle. If you are interested in being a part of this group
to help us with ways to welcome seekers and newcomers to the church, then please come and
find out how you can help! A simple lunch will be served!

Ladies!
The Sunday Morning Ladies Bible Class is back!! We will have our first lesson on Sunday,
September 23 at 9 am with a study on the book of Galatians.
Please note: We have moved the class upstairs to the Sunday school wing.
Max Lucado's Life Lessons from Galatian is a 12-session study on Paul's letter to the Galatians.
Written by one who had known slavery, he declares and defines Christian liberty. Many of the
early Christians were Jewish Christians accustomed to following the Law and had started
substituting human effort for God's gift of grace. Key Themes:
Salvation comes by grace, not works. We should bear fruit of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We will reap in life what we have sown in life.
Each lesson has the following sections: Key Scripture Verse, Reflection, Situation, Observation, Exploration, Inspiration, Reaction, Life Lessons, Devotion, and Journaling.
All ladies welcome. Don't be bashful. Grab some coffee, bring your bible and join us for bible
study and fellowship and as always, a few laughs as we get to know each other!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone....I've missed each and everyone of you!

Task Force needed!!!
We would like to have a dance as part of our Fourth
Friday Fellowship on October 26th and we would like
your help!
We have a few ideas as how it could look and appreciate
any input/help we can get.
So far we see: straw, mason jars, pulled pork,
sunflowers, music, line dancing, open to the public,
possibly pies, make it a food drive for Food for Families
and Food Bank, admission is food donation, etc.
Please join us for a Task Force meeting on September
23rd right after worship in the conference room.
If we can get enough people together, we might just be
able to pull this off!
Please call the office if you have any questions or
comments. Thank you.

and welcoming environment. We are always happy to welcome new faces, as we
grow in our faith together!
Make it part of your Thursday night routine, we would love to have you!

BASE is hosting their Annual Trick-or-Table
event on
Friday, October 19th
7 pm to 8 pm
Trick-or-Table is an exciting event for everyone. This will lead us into the fun and
festivities of the harvest season.
Our volunteers will decorate a table in the
Fellowship Hall and hand out candy to the kids! The kids can dress in their costumes if they like, but it is not required (but please,
nothing too scary!).
If you would like to decorate a table and hand
out candy, or if you are unable to attend the event but would like to donate candy, please
drop a note into our “Trick-or-Table” sign-up box in the office. Sign-up slips are available by the box. Thank You!
If you have any questions, call Treina Graves (event coordinator) at (253) 539-2273.
