Lambton-Kingsway Junior Middle School Parent Council Year-End Newsletter June 2013 Looking back at the 2013 school year, the Parent Community of Lambton-Kingsway Junior Middle School continued an im- pressive track record of outstanding support to our students, staff and the community. That doesn’t happen by accident, the quality of our school is the result of the dedication and hard work by our outstanding teachers, administration and our incredibly engaged parent body. In this annual report, you’ll find an impressive summary of activities that our Parent Council have driven forward in the last year. This speaks to how our school consistently works to enhance the experiences and opportunities our children receive – both in and out of the classroom. Our students wouldn’t have access to many of the things they do without the active fundraising that happens throughout the year. In addition to creating a strong sense of community, these fundraising ef- forts by Parent Council are more critical than ever given ongoing TDSB budget cuts. These funds represent an important supplement to make programs and investments happen. It’s no secret that the anchor to being able to make all these ini- tiatives happen is our fantastic volunteer base. A huge thank you to all who volunteered this year – you made a tremen- dous impact (and please keep it going!). As you read the report, I’d encourage you to think of feedback and ideas so we can keep building and improving for the years ahead. An easy way to get involved and share your thoughts is to attend our first meeting in September 2013. We’d love to see you there! Thanks for a great year, and have a wonderful summer.
