LAKE COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENTPost Office Box 489 Lakeport, California 95453

    Rodney K. Mitchell

    Sherif f / Coroner

The pages in this report detail the number of selected crimes that were reportedto Lake County Sheriffs Deputies between the time periods January 1, 2008 thruDecember 31, 2008. These statistics do not cover all of the 5,263 totaldocumented crimes or incidents reportedto the Office of the Lake County Sheriffduring this time period. The crime statistics included in this report have beendetermined to be the most frequently and commonly occurring crimes within the

jurisdiction of the Lake County Sheriffs Office.

Furthermore, bear in mind that, in certain cases, the crimes detailed in this reportinclude all subsections of the applicable statute; meaning that for example; thedata provided for California Penal Code section 261-Rape, includes allsubsections of the base statute. Also of significance is that fact that communityboundaries as defined within Sheriffs Office Computer Aided Dispatch(CAD)system do not necessarily coincide with the recognized political boundariesof each community listed.

Lastly, population data is not included in this report as the most current dataavailable is from the 2000 US Census and the data that is available is not brokendown into all of the communities included in this report.

It is my sincere hope that the data contained in this report is of benefit to all whoread it.

    Sincerely,

    Rodney K. MitchellSheriff/Coroner
