• Fisheries and livelihood

• Water supply for metro Manila

• Permitting and enforcement of waste

management from industrial sector; and

• Developing new policies for long term

sustainability of the watershed

Major activities of LLDA:

Activities in Santa Rosa:

• 1997: River Rehabilitation Program – Addresses

pollution loading from rivers

- Survey of Santa Rosa River conducted

- Save Silang Santa Rosa River (S3R2) Council

organized

• 1999: Board Resolution 114 passed (institutionalizing

River Rehabilitation Program)

- Creation of the Federation of River Basin Council –

partnering with NGOs

• 2000 - 2006: Major effort in capacity building for

fisherfolk, Environmental Army, River cleanups,

industrial source permitting

• 2007: BR 414 – Creation of 24 sub – WQMAs including

#20, Santa Rosa

Activities in Santa Rosa:

2008: LLDA partners with WORLD WIDE FUND FOR

NATURE PHILIPPINES (WWF)

- Scientific and technical studies to determine long

term sustainability of water supply for Santa Rosa

watershed

Partnership with WWF Launched

- Identification of issues and concerns
