The term is coming to an end, are you excited? The  year seems to be flying by, but that just means we have more memories in our hearts. And speaking of making more memories, here are some events that are bound to keep Key Club in your heart forever!  We just kicked off the month of October with the Great Pumpkin Festival, an event where we helped to man the jump houses and assist little kids. How was that for you? On the 10 th , we are v olunteering at  Walk Now for Autism. Interested in soccer? What about donating money to help those in  Africa? Well, you’re in luck! The Lose -the-Shoes Soccer Tournament is just for you! Form a team of 3 to battle it out on the soccer field to help raise money to buy kids in Africa shoes! Feel the grass beneath your toes as your score a goal! How could you resist that? Going to Fall Rally? Know your cheers! Cheer training will be on the 17 th to help new and old member remember our cheers to show off Key Club spirit. Not only will we be learning cheers, but  we’ll also get to mingle with Key Clubbers from the EGUSD school district. Then on the 23 rd , we have FALL RALLY NORTH, the ultimate clashing of all Key Clubs within the northern Cali-Nev- Ha district! We’ll show off our spirit by battling other divisions and aiming for the championship of spirit battles once more! Of course, all this is for a good cause, all proceeds raised during the event will be going toward Pediatric Trauma Prevention. So what do you have to lose? Except your boredom because right after the spirit battles and ceremonies, we are let loose to roam Great America! What could be a better way to end the day? On the 29 th , we will be launching Operation: Trick-or-Treat for Unicef! Why limit yourself to raising money by yourself when you can join us board members and trick-or-treat for Unicef together? We will be splitting into teams and dispa tch around LCHS to maximize our profits raised for Unicef. On behalf of your entire board, I wish you a very MONSTER-ful Halloween. past events

Laguna Creek Key Club went to John Ehrhardt Elementary after school andhelped with their a nnual Burgers N’ Books event. Some of t he things we didinvolved wrapping hot dogs and hamburgers, distributing tickets for chipsand drinks, and reading books to kids in the Book Corner. We even helpedto DJ the event, and in return, we received a complimentary dance lesson tothe “Cupid Shuffle ” from an enthusiastic Ehrhardt student.

9/18 Start! Heart Early Saturday morning, members went to help set up the event a

William Land Park. Key Clubbers all from Division 7 South were therincluding some faces from Division 7 North. There were several stand

that needed assistance such as the Subway and Go Girl booths. Weunloaded items from trucks and helped make balloons to decorate

stands and the large stage that was centered in the middle of thlocation. We then cheered on the walkers and finished by cleaning up

as good volunteers d

9/24 Food Faire #1

Laguna Creek High School has a food faire once each term where Key Clubsells churros! The cinnamon-covered fried dough brought plenty of hungry students to our table that members and some officers were working for bothlunches. If you are interested in helping out with ticket sales or actually distributing them out for Food Faire #2 coming in December, make sure tosign up with Secretary Sharon Alamsjah at our club meetings.

9/25 Regional Training CoRegion 16 is composed of Division 7 North Yellow and Black Bees, Division 7 SouthOrange Monsters, Division 27 Red Grizzlies, Division 44 North Green Ninjas, andDivision 44 South Green Dinos. Key Clubbers, stretching from Folsom to Stockton, gathered together to learn more about Key Club, the future, and to show off our spirit!

We learned cheers, how to be more spirited, and met other members from different schools. This definitely was an event to remember, and was definite practice for Fall RallNorth 2010!

Jennifer Kain Thank you for being an active Key Clubber in the past month! Your support inproviding rides is also much appreciated as you gave more opportunities for our members tovolunteer.

Thinh Tran Much appreciation for volunteering at the Great Pumpkin Festival and spendingyour own hours past your shift to help out.

Mr. Sousa Although providing your classroom is very small thing, we are very thankful for your support every year! Because of you, the transition from the Laguna Creek Cafeteria toE-2 was very smooth.

Thomas KwanAugust/September Beast of the Month

Our Beast of the Month for August and September is ThomasKwan! He stepped up to the challenge and was one of the fewmembers we had attend the Community Meeting where heentertained kids while the adults had a meeting. Thomas alsoattended the back-to- back events of John Ehrhardt’s Burgers nBooks and the Start! Heart Walk. He helped to collect tickets andhand out utensils to the parents and children that helped donateto John Ehrhardt, then woke up bright and early the next day tohelp set up at the Start! Heart Walk. He also cleaned up at thewalk by carryings chairs and other supplies back to the truck. Finally, Thomas is set to lend a hand at the Great Pumpkin Festivalthe start of the October Month. Because of this, it is quite evidentthat Thomas Kwan is an icon of the ideal Key Clubber!

Special shout outs to our members and adults, recognizing them for their
