LAG3201 German 3 COURSE OUTLINE Module Objectives Students will be taught to comprehend more listening and reading texts on topics of general interest as well as on aspects of German culture, society and life. They will also acquire the ability and linguistic features to express their views and communicate meaningfully on the topics. Language learning skills and strategies as well as some colloquial expressions will be included in the classroom instruction. Module Structure The six hours weekly for the module will be divided into: 2 Lectures (2 hrs each) and 1 Tutorial (2 hrs) There will be twelve weeks of lectures and eleven weeks of tutorial. Attendance is compulsory for both lectures and tutorials. Lectures During the lectures, the students will be introduced to topics of study as well as new grammatical aspects. The emphasis will be on developing reading, writing and listening skills as well as on acquiring and practising new linguistic structures. The lessons will be based on the textbook studio d A2” and, in part, on materials prepared by the lecturers. The schedule for the lecture groups is as follows. Assessment The assessment is based entirely on students' coursework (100% CA). There is no examination for this module. Assessment will be based on the students’ written work (Compositions, essays, project etc.), oral speaking abilities, performance in periodic tests as well as class participation and performance.
