SCHOOL NEWS
Grand Opening of School Extension
To showcase Ladygrove’s new extension, we held a Grand Open Day
today. The school was officially opened by Councillor Shaun Davies,
Leader of Telford & Wrekin Council, who is also an ex-pupil of Lady-
grove. The event was attended by Councillor Malcolm Randall, Mayor of
Great Dawley, Councillor Shirley Reynolds (Cabinet Member for
Children, Young People and Education) and Councillor Kuldip Sahota
(Malinslee & Dawley Bank) and they were given a tour by our School
Ambassador pupils. Even the drizzle didn’t dampen the spirits as parents
later came along to view the impressive new Nursery, classrooms and
Hall.
Say #HelloYellow!
Wear yellow on Friday 11th October and help raise vital funds for Young Minds. Mental Health Awareness -
50p or more donation for Young Minds. Nationwide, this event is being held on 10th October, however at
Ladygrove we have Y3/4 children out on a school trip that day so we will run it on the Friday.
Harvest Festival
Also on Friday 11th October we will be having Harvest Assembly in school for the children. Any donations of
non-perishable food items and toiletries will be gratefully received; we will be taking these to Dawley Food
bank.
A FEW REMINDERS
Pants!
Please could YR and Y1 have any spare girls and boys pants you may have as they are getting very short in
supply!
Appointments
Please could we ask that all non-urgent medical and dental appointments are made outside of the school day as
it is extremely disruptive to the whole class when children are taken out early.
Photographer
Remember the school photographer will be in school on Thursday 9th October so everyone needs to be looking
their best! Families with children under school age first at 8.30am.
Lost!
Ffion in Mrs Cook’s class has mislaid a brand new cardigan with a logo; it is named. Please could you check at
home incase it has been taken by mistake.
PTA NEWS
We Need You!
If you run a local business (or know someone who does!) we are asking for help to
support Ladygrove’s 40th Anniversary Ball (date to be confirmed) by donating
raffle and auction prizes. The event will be an evening of food, entertainment
and dancing and promises to be an event not to be missed! If you can help please
contact the school office. Thank you!
SCHOOL MEALS
PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED MENU
The cost of a school meal is £2.30. Can we remind parents that the most simple and easy way to pay for
school dinners is online? The web link is below. You simply find our school’s name from the list and payment
can be made using a credit or debit card. You will need to have your child’s unique reference number for
school dinners for this. If you do not have this, contact the school office and they will be pleased to provide
it for you. This has the added benefit of providing you with a receipt for payments made.

We also need to make parents aware that we are not allowed to incur debts for school dinners. If there are
any outstanding arrears then your child will receive an emergency lunch of cheese, crackers and fruit.
School Dinners for KS2
Every child in YR, Y1 and Y2 automatically receives Universal Free School meals funded by the government,
however this entitlement ends when your child enters Y3. The cost of a school dinner is £2.30. If you are in
