He selflessly serves his teammates and does his best every single practice. He has been one of the hardest workers on our team this entire season. His conduct on and off the field exemplifies how Bulldog football players should act. He more than took advantage of the additional playing time he received during our game against Pinedale this week. He caught a 57-yard TD pass, kicked three PATs and handled the kicking and punting duties. He also played about every snap at safety on a starting defense that only allowed 6 points to Pinedale. Kathryn Mickelson Kathryn ran a great race at the 2A West Conference meet in Thermopolis placing 10th in a time of 24:25.8 to earn all-conference honors. SPIRIT OF THE GRIZZ ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL Taylin Boettcher This week’s Spirit of the Grizz goes to Taylin Boettcher for her consistency and hard work. Taylin was our leader in kills this week with our Riverside and Greybull games. Bryan Jurado Bryan never ceases to amaze me by his motivation to learn more, do more and be more. The Lady Mustangs be- gan tournament play by crushing Lander 21-9, 21-4. With the win, Lovell met the Big Horn Confer- ence champions, the Riv- erside Rebels, in the semi- finals for a spot in the championship match. The Lady Mustangs won the first set 21-14 and clob- bered the Lady Rebels in the second set 21-4 to win the match and advance to the title match. The Lady Mustangs met Cody for the Yellow- stone Conference cham- pionship. The Cody Fil- lies won the first set 21-18, but the Lady Mustangs re- sponded and won the sec- ond set 22-20, setting up a crucial third set for the ti- tle. Lovell completed the comeback by winning the third set 21-15 taking the match. Members of the Lady Mustang seventh-grade team were Chaylee Betan- court, Lily Hiser, Marie Hillman, Kennadee Ow- ens, Libby Mickelson, Davi Frost, Kenadee Rael, Dan- ika Crumrine and Raegan May. Anastyn Leithead and Whitney Hendershot were the managers. The seventh-grade team finished the season 17-1. “They did such a great job,” coach Becky Rael said. “I’m so proud of them and feel very blessed to share this win with them.” EIGHTH GRADE The Lovell eighth- grade squad began Yellow- stone Conference Tour- nament play by defeating Worland 21-17, 16-21, 21-18 Saturday in Thermopolis. With the win, the Lady Mustangs met Riverton in the semifinals. Lovell fell to Riverton 21-14, 21-16. The loss put Lovell up against Cody for third place. The Lady Mustangs fell to Cody 21-12, 21-13 to finish fourth. The eighth-grade team finished the season 9-9. “I thought the girls had a good season,” coach Kisha McArthur said. “I saw im- provement and an under- standing of the game. They are hard workers, and the best thing is that they like each other and get along. “I was very proud of how they ended the sea- son. They came from be- hind to beat Worland and then gave Riverton a fight they weren’t expecting. for Lovell volleyball as the Lovell Middle School seventh-grade volley-ball squad captured a big trophy Saturday by win-ning the Yellowstone Con-ference Tournament in Lander.

The Lady Mustangs be-gan tournament play by crushing Lander 21-9, 21-4.

With the win, Lovell met the Big Horn Confer-ence champions, the Riv-erside Rebels, in the semi-finals for a spot in the championship match. The Lady Mustangs won the first set 21-14 and clob-bered the Lady Rebels in the second set 21-4 to win
