LACAMAS HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY

Leopard Tracks June 11, 2015

Dear Lacamas Families,

It’s hard to believe, but we are less than a week away from the end of the year!

As we head into our last few days, we hope that families will join us as we

celebrate and wrap up a great year.

Lacamas Talent Show, June 11th, 9:30-10:45 am

We’re excited to showcase our talented kids. There will be singing, dancing,

cheering and more! We hope you come enjoy the show!

Field Day, June 12th

It’s time to play! What better way to end our year than spending time playing together. Students will

have fun visiting stations, eating a BBQ lunch provided by our PALS and being with classmates and

friends. Parent helpers are needed and appreciated, so if you have the time we’d love to see you!

Kindergarten Review, June 15th, 11:00 am and 2:30 pm

Come watch our Kindergartener’s as they share their learning! Our AM kids will preform at 11:00 am

and our PM kids at 2:30 pm. You don’t want to miss this!

Year End Assembly, June 16th, 9:30-10:30am

This is our last time to celebrate our kids as we end our year together. We will recognize students and

reflect back on our year together. Buses will load at 10:50 am.

The end of every school year comes way too soon. As you start looking toward your summer plans,

continue to support your child by establishing time in your daily schedule for maintaining their skills. Set

aside 20-30 minutes a day for reading and 10-30 minutes for basic math practice. Whether it’s time while

driving in the car to swim lessons, or time every morning at home, your dedication to maintaining these daily

habits will benefit your child as they start next year. The Camas Public Library has a great summer reading

program, along with Barnes & Noble and other area organizations, and our own Community Education has

some great offering to support your child.

Summer is here! Join us with our final year end school events. We look forward to seeing you at Lacamas

as we wrap up this fantastic year!

Pawsitively Awesome News!

Thanks for a great school year! We meet our school

goal of $1500 from the Box Tops for Education™

program. You can still help our school by collecting

Box Tops this summer. For a list of participating

products, go to BTFE.com. Clip the Box Tops, keep

them in a safe place, and turn them in next school

year. Have a great break!

Keep saving those labels throughout the summer months!

Volunteer of the Month

Each month PALS will be selecting a volunteer of the month to thank with a Starbucks gift card for their dedication to Lacamas Heights.

For May we would like to recognize and thank:

Theresa Cheng

For June we would like to recognize and thank:

Sarah Shaffer

Thank you to all who volunteer time and energy to help make Lacamas a wonderful place for our

children to grow and learn!

End Of year Lacamas BBQ The end of the school year is here and we would like to celebrate with an all school BBQ this Friday in conjunction with Field Day. Lunch will be free to all students, staff, field day volunteers, and the Camas High School Band. The BBQ will replace the normal hot lunch in the cafeteria. Students can bring their own lunch from home if they choose to.

The menu includes: Hotdogs, chips, grapes, watermelon, otter pops, and water

We would like to thank the following businesses for their support of the BBQ:

Costco Wal-Mart

Fern Prairie Market Camas Safeway
