The first known use of the term "Labradoodle" was by sir Donald Campbell to describe his

Labrador/Poodle cross dog in his 1955 book, “into the Water Barrier.” This breed became

better known in 1988 when Wally Conron, a Australian breeder started breeding this cross

for Guide Dogs Victoria.

Physical characteristics of this breed are: they can have a blue-black tongue; the

texture of their coat hair is unlike that of any other breed's, they posses a jaw

structure that is totally unique in canines. These unique physical characteristics of

this breed is their fleece or wool like coat that was breed to be non shedding. When

they lack the right amount of amino acids you will notice a change in the gums, coat

color and hair texture. Natural food supplies included poultry, water fowl, sweet

potato, potato spinach, cabbage, wheat and berries. The diet should be high in fiber

and mineral complex. We also suggest that you avoid feeding any avocado, rice,

beef, fish, beet pulp, soy or the use of soy products and oats.
