In this part 2 of our exploration of PowerPoint we will look at how to use a screen clipping tool.
2.1 IN-LAB Scenario: You will need to create a presentation about the current issue of rhino poaching:
You will need to create at least 7 slides
Use the images in your Files folder
Following the instructions below

1. Microsoft PowerPoint 2. Access to the Internet 3. BLK_Mamba_Snake_Firstname_Lastname.pptx (presentation file we did on the last lab)

2.1.2 In-Lab Instructions
2.1.2.1.1 Step 1: Setting your files
1. Launch MS PowerPoint and open the document as rhino-poaching-firstname_lastname.pptx. Resave the file as rhino-poaching-firstname_lastname-complete.pptx to your Desktop.
2.1.2.1.2 Step 2: Using Screen Shots and Recording
Using any web browser go to www.google.com and type the following subject on the search:
Open the WWF report
Leave this page open so we can take a picture of it in PowerPoint.
Now go back to your presentation and create a new slide at the last slide using layout Title Only

Type the title

Now we are going to do a selective screen capture of just the WWF article:

Your screen will fade with a plus sign cursor:

Drag to make a selection.
If you made a mistake repeat the process.

Now use the handle bars to resize the image without losing the aspect ratio of the image. To do that use the corner
handle bar to resize the image:
Final result:
Now let’s record narations in PowerPoint so that each slide will have vocal naratives.

This should start the presentation at the very first slide. Please note the record controls that appears on the upper left
corner:
Go through the entire presentation either with your navigation keys or the mouse. Once the presentation is complete
you should see the narrative icon appear on the lower part of your presentation:
You can click on this and it will playback the vocal recordings for each slide.

If you place your cursor over the speaker icon, the playback controller pops out
2.2 STEP 4: PAGE ACTIONS Go to the last slide
And insert a page link that would take you to slide # 2:
First lets insert a textbox:
Now let’s change its properties:

Click on the border of the textbox:
Then insert an action:

This box will pop open:
Now select the following option:

Select the slide # 2:
Now go to slide # 2 and repeat the process to point to the last slide:
2.3 STEP 4: AUTHORSHIP & PUBLISHING Slide Master: This allows you to format by bulk e.g. change color of font on a specific slide layout:

Select the main slide:

Then change the main bullet point to bold
Then the second level bullet or paragraph to italics:
Close Master View

Handout Master: This allows you to format the handouts when printed:

Change the header and footer to your firstname and lastname
Close the master view:

Again change the header and footer to your firstname lastname

Go to File Share , but in order to do this section you will need to have created a Microsoft
Account. Today you will learn how to publish this presentation online and be able to present it online as well

Open BLK_Mamba_Snake_Firstname_Lastname.pptx
Follow the instructions in step 2:

Go to the last slide and insert a new Slide.

And using the screen shot tool do a screen shot on this web page
2.3.6.2 Do a recording
Record something to your presentation… note that you should have this icon when it is completed
2.3.6.3 Insert an Action
Go to the last slide and insert a textbox. Enter the following text inside your text box: Go to slide 2
Change the format of your textbox to anything but the default style.
Insert your action to point to Slide 2
On slide 2 repeat the process and point back to the last page. Make sure that the textbox style is different.
