Andrea Trucchia interviewed by media at Caixa Foundation Fellowship awarding ceremony

Ø The fellowship aims to incorporate national and international young talented students in universities and research centers of Spain for the next four years.

Ø Havva Yoldas, Ezhilmathi Krishnasamy and Andrea Trucchia (BCAM PhD Fellows) obtained grants from the First call of the international scholarship program of the Foundation La Caixa - Severo Ochoa, in 2015.

Carmen VELA, Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation and Jaume GIRÓ, General Director of Banking- "La Caixa” Foundation, have delivered 71 diplomas of its international “La Caixa”-Severo Ochoa fellowships for doctoral degrees in Spain in a ceremony on June 28 at Barcelona.

Andrea Trucchia was interviewed by various media that highlighted his doctoral studies and his research in BCAM on the study and prediction of fire.various media highlighted ANDREA´S doctoral studies and his research in BCAM on DEVELOPMENT and prediction of fire.

As he said to Jessica MOUZO QUINTÁNS (El País-Catalonia Newspaper):

“It's about connecting fluid physics and physics of combustion with fire geometry to know how will behave and how will act.” Some phenomena "only have the basis of the experience but lack accurate basis.”…”Now, pulling the statistics before, and with the scientific and mathematical basis we can predict the flame border and anticipate the development of the fire,"

Responding to Esther ARMORA (ABC Barcelona), he added "I try to connect physical phenomena that lack a mathematical tool so they can be more profitable”…”In addition to pre-empt the fire and predict, for example, how much area of forest that will burn every hour and where will evolve the flames, applied mathematics to physics can also help us determine the stabilities of the pressures on aircraft engines”.

Andrea Trucchia entrevistado por los medios de comunicación en la ceremonia de entrega de becas de la Fundación Caixa

Ø El programa tiene por objeto incorporar jóvenes talentos nacionales e internacionales en las universidades y centros de investigación de España por los próximos cuatro años.

Ø Havva Yoldas, Ezhilmathi Krishnasamy y Andrea Trucchia (Pre docs en BCAM) obtuvieron las becas de la Primera convocatoria del programa internacional de becas de la Fundación La Caixa - Severo Ochoa en 2015.

Carmen VELA, Secretaria de Estado de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación y Jaume GIRÓ, Director General de la Fundación "La Caixa", han entregado 71 becas del Programa Internacional de Becas de Doctorado "La Caixa"-Severo Ochoa para estudios doctorales en España, en una ceremonia celebrada el 28 de Junio en Barcelona.

Andrea Trucchia fue entrevistado por varios medios de comunicación que destacaron sus estudios pre doctorales y su investigación en BCAM sobre el estudio y predicción del desarrollo de los incendios.

Según dijo a Jessica MOUZO QUINTÁNS (Periódico El País-Cataluña):

"Se trata de conectar la física de fluidos y la física de combustión con la geometría del fuego para saber cómo se comportará y cómo actuará", … algunos fenómenos "sólo tienen la base de la experiencia pero carecen de base exacta". "Ahora tirando de la estadística de antes, y de la base científica y matemática se puede predecir la frontera de la llama y adelantarnos al desarrollo del fuego”.

Contestando a Esther ARMORA (Periódico ABC Barcelona), añadió “Intento conectar fenómenos de la física a los que les falta una herramienta matemática para que puedan resultar más provechosos»,…«Además de adelantarnos al fuego y predecir, por ejemplo, cuánta superficie de bosque se quemará cada hora y hacia dónde evolucionarán las llamas, las Matemáticas aplicadas a la Física nos pueden ayudar también a determinar las estabilidades de las presiones en los motores de los aviones»,
