• Esperanza = Deseo + expectación. Fil. 1:21, “el morir es ganancia”; 2 Tim 4:8, “me está guardada la corona de justicia la cual me dará el Señor, juez justo, en aquel día”.

• Hope = Desire + expectation. Phil. 1:21, “to die is gain.” 2 Tim. 4:8, “there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day.”

• 6:17, “y la espada del Espíritu, que es la palabra de Dios”. Mejor defensa = guerra ofensiva. Pablo peleó contra judaizantes, gnósticos, paganismo, pecado en la iglesia.

• 6:17, “and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Best defense = offensive war. Paul fought against judaizers, gnostics, paganism, sin in the church.

• El libro de Hechos registra la guerra ofensiva de los apóstoles. Narra cómo ellos (mayormente Pablo y compañeros) invadie-ron territorio enemigo, ganando victorias.

• The book of Acts records the offensive war of the apostles. It tells how they (especially Paul and companions) invaded enemy territory, gaining victories.

• “being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” Watch and pray connected (Matt. 26:41; Acts 20:31; 1 Pet. 5:8). Not faint. Pray for fellow-soldiers.

• Conclusión. Cada pieza de la armadura es indispensable. Algunos abandonan la lucha porque les falta alguna pieza. “Tomad toda la armadura … resistir … estar firmes”.
