Business Case 1

Business Case GPS

- Overall goal: To enhance Intereast’s delivery accuracy on our standard flow from 95-99%.

- Measurement: We measured the transport deviations during half a year, 56 deviations in time was found where the transports were +-2 hours late.

- Analysis: The major reason for the latecome was origin transit time problems on the main haulage.

- Implement: To secure the transit time and an on time information flow we installed GPS on all 9 trucks on the main haulage lanes

- Control: Latest measurement was made in August, 99,5% on time delivery.

Business Case 2

Business Case E-files

- Overall goal: Increase overall efficiency with 15%

- Measurement: We measured 100 randomly picked shipments on the time of each print out. The result was 1,5 minute in average to print a document, this included all aspects from start to stop.

- Analysis: When we got the total lead time we calculated how much time we would save if we attached the documents electronically. Average increase of efficiency was 15-20%

- Implement: To be able to have this we implemented a system for handling the documents.

- Control: Latest measurement was made in June 2010, 13% in average.
