3. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO OBTAIN PERMITSNECESSARY TO PERFORM THE WORK SHOWN IN THESE PLANS FROM THEAPPROPRIATE AGENCIES.

LOCATIONS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN VERIFIED IN THE FIELD AND NOGUARANTEE IS MADE AS TO THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF THEINFORMATION SHOWN. 1. PRIOR TO INITIATING ANY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY IN THE AREA,TEMPORARY PROTECTIVE FENCING SHALL BE INSTALLED AT EACHSITE TREE. FENCING SHALL BE LOCATED AT OR BEYOND THECANOPY DRIP LINE SO THAT 100% OF THE DRIP LINE WILL BEPROTECTED BY FENCING.
2. THE TREE PROTECTION FENCE SHALL BE 4' HIGH SNOW FENCINGWITH IMMOVABLE POSTS. THE FENCING SHALL FORM ACONTINUOUS BARRIER AROUND EACH TREE WITHOUT ENTRYPOINTS.
4. THIS FENCING SHALL SERVE AS A BARRIER TO PREVENT DRIP LINEENCROACHMENT OF ANY TYPE OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES ANDEQUIPMENT. NO OILS, GAS, CHEMICALS, LIQUID WASTE, SOLID WASTECONSTRUCTION MACHINERY OR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS SHALLBE STORED OR ALLOWED TO STAND FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIMEWITHIN THE DRIP LINE OF THE TREE. FURTHER, NO ONE SHALLENTER THE FENCE PERIMETER FOR ANY REASON EXCEPT FOR THEPURPOSE OF MONITORING THE HEALTH OF THE TREE. ACCIDENTALDAMAGE TO BARK, ROOT CROWN, OR LIMBS MAY INCREASEPOTENTIAL FOR FUTURE DECLINE.
5. LOW HANGING LIMBS OF PRESERVED TREES SHALL BE PRUNED PRIORTO ANY EQUIPMENT MOBILIZATION ON SITE. THE PURPOSE OF THISREQUIREMENT IS TO AVOID TEARING LIMBS BY HEAVY EQUIPMENT.ALL LIMBS TO BE PRUNED SHALL BE SUPERVISED BY OWNER.
6. CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS SHALL DIRECT ALLEQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL TO REMAIN OUTSIDE THE FENCEDAREA AT ALL TIMES UNTIL PROJECT IS COMPLETE, AND SHALLINSTRUCT EMPLOYEES AS TO THE PURPOSE AND IMPORTANCE OFFENCING.
7. A WARNING SIGN SHALL BE POSTED AT EACH TREE INDICATING THEPURPOSE OF THE FENCING.
8. FENCING MUST REMAIN IN PLACE AND SHALL NOT BE REMOVEDUNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES ARE COMPLETED. THIS SHALLINCLUDE GRADING AND COMPACTION ACTIVITIES, INSTALLATION OFUNDERGROUND, AND ANY OTHER CONSTRUCTION OR ACTIVITYWHICH IS SCHEDULED PRIOR TO LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION.
9. ROOTS OF SINGLE STANDING TREES OFTEN EXTEND UP TO THREETIMES THE DISTANCE OF THE ACTUAL DRIP LINE AND FUNCTIONPRIMARILY IN THE UPTAKE OF NUTRIENTS AND WATER. THE DRIPLINE IS ARBITRARILY ESTABLISHED AS THE MINIMUM ROOT AREAGENERALLY REQUIRED TO PRESERVE TREE HEALTH. AS MUCH AREA ASPOSSIBLE AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE TREE SHOULD HAVEMINIMUM INTRUSION TO FURTHER INSURE TREE SURVIVAL ANDHEALTH.
10. UNAUTHORIZED TREE REMOVAL IS SUBJECT TO IN-KINDREPLACEMENT EQUAL TO THE MATURE RESOURCE LOST, ASDETERMINED BY OWNER.
11. THE CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO WATER, FERTILIZE AND ATTENDTO OTHER MAINTENANCE NEEDS OF EXISTING TREES AS NEEDED TOMAINTAIN HEALTHY GROWTH THROUGHOUT THE CONSTRUCTIONPERIOD. TREES SHALL BE WATERED ACCORDING TO WEATHER ANDTREE REQUIREMENTS.
12. PLEASE CONSULT SPECIFICATIONS CONCERNING TREE PRESERVATIONAND PRUNING.
