1. REALIZE

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know

the things that have been freely given to us by

God.1 Cor 2:12

ST. CYRIL OF JERUSALEM The oil of gladness with which Christ was anointed was a spiritual oil; it was in fact the Holy Spirit himself, who is called the oil of gladness because he is the source of

spiritual joy. But we too have been anointed with oil, and by this anointing we have entered into fellowship with

Christ and have received a share in his life. Beware of thinking that this holy oil is

simply ordinary oil and nothing else. After the invocation of the Spirit it is no longer

ordinary oil but the gift of Christ, and by the presence of his divinity it becomes the

instrument through which we receive the Holy Spirit

2.ASK“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your

children, how much more will your heavenly Father give

the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Luke 11:13

ST. AUGUSTINEBreath in me, O Holy Spirit, that

my thoughts may all be holy. Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my

work, too, may be holy. Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I

love but what is holy. Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to

defend all that is holy. Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I

always may be holy.

seven timesAnd rise again,

But the wicked shall fall by calamity.” Proverbs24:16

When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness,

The LORD will be a light to me.Mic 7:8

let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who

thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the

ST. JOHN OF KRONSTADT

When you say a prayer, He (Holy Spirit) is in every

word of it, and like a Holy Fire,

penetrates each word.

7. SENSITIVE TO CONVICTIONS

...And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe. 5 Now it

happened afterward that David’s heart troubled him because he

had cut Saul’s robe. 6 And he said to his men, “The LORD forbid that I

should do this thing to my master, the LORD’s anointed, to stretch out

my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.

1 Sam 24:4-6

8.READY FOR TRANSFORMATIONS

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate

the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his

image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the

Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

ST. SERAPHIM OF SAROV

God is a fire that warms and kindles the heart and inward parts. And so, if

we feel in our hearts coldness, which is from the devil, - for the devil is cold - then let us call upon the Lord, and He will come and warm our hearts with perfect love not only for Him, but for our neighbour as well. And

from the presence of warmth the coldness of the hater of good will be

driven away.
