DECREE

W HEREAS, according to canon 518, each parish, as a general rule, is to be territorial ; and

W HEREAS, the delineation of the precise boundaries of par ishes is beneficial and promotes the common good;

OW THEREFORE, BY THI S DECREE, I hereby determine the boundaries of Saint James Parish in St. Jacob, Illinoi s, effective immediately. I do thi s in accord with the nonn of canon 515, §2, after first having heard the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinoi s, and following consultation with the pastor.

The territorial boundaries of Saint Jam es Parish are:

Beginning at the southeastern corner of St. Jacob Township, which is also the point at which the Madi son County line is intersected by the terminus of the St. Clair-Clinton County line, thence westerly along the Madi son-St. Cla ir County line to the southwestern corner of St. Jacob Township ; thence from the intersection of the Madi son-St. Cla ir County line with the St. Jacob-Jarvis Township line, the southwestern corner of St. Jacob Township, thence northerly along the St. Jacob-Jarvis Township line to its intersection w ith the St. Jacob-Marine Township line; thence from the intersect ion of the St. Jacob-Jarv is Township line and the St. Jacob-Marine Township line, i.e ., the northwest corner of St. Jacob Township, thence easterly along the St. Jacob-Marine Township line, which in part is also Hickory Flat Road to its intersection w ith the St. Jacob-Helvetia Township line, i.e., the northeastern corner of St. Jacob Township; thence southerly a long the St. Jacob-Helvetia Township line, which is in part Acorn Road to its intersection with the Madison-St. Clair County line, i.e. , the southwestern corner of St. Jacob Township and the point of beginning and as further indicated and described in the map attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof as though fully set forth here.
