PSALMS 122:1-9
• 1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. 2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. 3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: 4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord. 5. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
PSALMS 122:1-9
• 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. 7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. 8 For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. 9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

LORD• I was glad when they said unto me,

• Apostles had great joy after seeing Jesus ascend into heaven. Luke 24:52-53
DAVID WAS GLAD TO GO TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
• Pentecost – 3000 full of joy–Acts 2:41-42–
• Why were they glad?–They were children of God•Galatians 3:26-27
DAVID WAS GLAD TO GO TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD
• Why should we be glad today?
• God is here–Matthew 18:20
–For where two or more are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
DAVID WAS THANKFUL ….
• Verse 4 – Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel to GIVE THANKS.
• David had the opportunity to give thanks
DAVID WAS THANKFUL ….
• What are we thankful for today?
• We have victory over sin –1 Corinthians 15:57
• Every perfect gives comes from God –James 1:16-17
DAVID WAS THANKFUL ….
We should give thanks!
Philippians 4:6Be careful for nothing: but in
everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known
unto God.
DAVID WAS IN AWE ….
• Verse 5 – “for there (in the house of the Lord) are set thrones of judgment.
David was in awe, or wonder coupled with fear, that he was in the presence of God.
DAVID WAS IN AWE ….
• We should be in awe in the presence of God
–Matthew 10:28
–Hebrews 10:31 – It is a fearful thing to fall in the hands of the living God.
–Hebrews 12:25-29 – God is a consuming fire
DAVID FOUND PEACE ….
• In verses 6-7 David talks about the peace within the walls and palaces of Jerusalem.
• He prayed for the peace of God’s people.
DAVID FOUND PEACE ….
• We find peace in the House of God today
–1 Corinthians 14:33–John 14:27
• We have peace on earth with God helping us
DAVID FOUND PEACE ….
• We find:
• Peace between the brethren–1 Corinthians 13:11 – Finally brethren,
farewell, Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace, and the God of Love and peace shall be with you.
DAVID FOUND PEACE ….• We find peace in knowing we are
right with God.
• John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace.
• Philippians 4:9 – If we do God’s will we have peace.
