Summary...Due to this being an afro beats song as you can imagine the lyrics were extremely hard to find, however the chorus of this song is popular Ghanaian song which is : Leader:        Kye Kye Kule  (chay chay koo-lay) Chorus:         Kye Kye Kule

Leader:        Kye Kye Kofinsa (chay chay koh-feen sah)Chorus:         Kye Kye Kofisa

Leader:        Kofisa Langa   (Koh-fee sah lahn-gah)  Chorus:         Kofisa Langa   Leader:        Kaka Shilanga   (Kah-kah shee lahn-gah) Chrous:         Kaka Shilanga

The majority of afro beats music video’s are extremely performance based, consisting of mainly dancing and this can be seen from the che che kule dance freestyle video and from the case studies and that is definitely something we will be incorporating into our music video . We also did a brainstorm of some of the ideas for our music video :

Summary (continued)• The video will being with a young teenage girl sitting on her listening to music in earphones she then clicks and hears the song and she begins to like it, she then will unplug her earphones and make her friends listen and they begin to like it also. The music will be post synchronised song as the audience will be able to hear the song also however it will be played low until she takes out the earphones• As her and her friends leave there will be establishing shots of places such as a graffiti street, playgrounds and generally people having fun which is conventions of an afro beats music video• It will then cut back to girl meeting up with other friends and they all begin dancing this will include a fast cutting rate to match the quick upbeat tempo of the song, with long and medium shots of then dancing together and individually.• Before the video ends we wanted to include clips of people dancing to this song in a dance studio or just simply in the comfort of their own home but these video’s will be shot on an iphone/ any smartphone, this idea was taken form Kanye West’s video ‘Only One’ which was shot on an iphone and this will make our video slighlty unique from typical afro beats videos

Ideas from case studies

We draw the majority of our ideas from our case studies as we noticed that within the video there was this recurring theme of being young, free and this type of urban lifestyle and do to all of us coming and living in a urban area we were able to relate . Also the majority of afro beats are shot in wide open spaces or outside and that is something we wanted to do as yet again it keeps within the conventions of being free and able to express yourself , which is why the majority and nearly all afro beat videos have dancing and that is something we will be including also.

Casting/actors,props ,locationsWe have decided to include some of our friend who like afro beats and who are afro b eats dancers also we will keep in contact with them via a whatsapp group chat which is easy. Some of the props that will be used are an iphone and earphones. Which will be used for the first scene of the video this will belong to the cast member. The video will be shot is various different places which include playgrounds, Brick Lane, waterloo and a basketball court it will range from Hackney to Tottenham as we know hey that they are both quite urban townsWe want the cast to be wearing comfortable clothing that represent them as well as youth and African culture, so they could possibly be wearing Dashiki which is a typical piece of African attire.

Ethical ConsiderationsAs it can be noted that nearly all if not the majority of people that feature in a afro beats videos are black or are of some type of African background. Due to the genre being solely based on African culture and music it would be smart for us to try and stick to people of that ethnicity as they are better at comprehending the lyrics and dances moves as it is from there culture. AudienceThis video will mainly be aimed at teenage African’s who enjoy music of the afro beats music genre and anyone in particular who enjoys the music genre.
