Kwasi Twum-Acheampong – Soccer Star From Voorhees, NJ

Kwasi Twum-Acheampong graduated in 2011 from Eastern Regional High school in Voorhees, New Jersey. As a star defender of the Vikings, the school’s football team, he was well liked and respected among his peers. His talent on the field was undeniable, and appreciated by everyone who played with or against him. His charming personality and his willingness to learn with a smile on the face made him a favorite among the coaches. In fact, his coach stated in an interview with philly.com that Kwasi was one of the nicest people that he coached.

His fellow teammates were proud to be playing with such a strong player on their team, and they believed that Kwasi Twum-Acheampong was a major asset to their training sessions. The players believed that being in the field while Kwasi was defending made them work even harder to improve their skill level. Standing at 5 feet 10 inches and 150 pounds of sheer athleticism made him a tenacious defender. His teammates agree that Kwasi made it very difficult for the offense to score a goal. Even now, he has all the qualities required of a fierce player like his ability to jump high, his immense speed, and his quick ball recovery skills.

His dedication on the field is mirrored by his hard work in the classroom. He is an engaging student who likes to learn not only because he has to know the material for the tests and quizzes, but because he is genuinely interested in the subjects. His family migrated from Africa about 27 years ago, and they believe in the power of education as a promoter of future success.

His parents instilled great values in him including steadfast determinism, dedication to excellence, and kindness towards other human beings. Kwasi Twum-Acheampong is currently enrolled at the University of Virginia civil engineering program with an expected graduation date in 2015.
