Zero-tail swing means you’ll never again worry

about what is to the side or behind you while

you work. No matter how far you turn, the tail

always remains within the width of the tracks.

Zero-tail swing also ensures excellent balance,

stability and faster operation, making the U15

ideal for jobs in congested urban areas.

3'3'' (990 mm)

4'1'' (1,240 mm)

Variable Track WidthThe U15 features a hydraulic track gaugethat can be adjusted to between 3'3" and4'1" (990 mm and 1,240 mm). With thetouch of a single lever, you can reduce thetrack gauge to navigate narrow spaces orincrease it to improve functionality.

ZERO-TAIL SWING

Sometimes the biggest isn’t the best choice. That’s particularly true when the job calls for precision work in tight spaces. The compact U15 is designed for just that kind of task, with zero tail swing, a variable track width, and a wealth of other performance features that let you work at maximum efficiency at all times. That makes the U15 an easy choice. The best choice, for all those hard to reach jobs.

Ultra maneuverable, super efficient performance for a wide range of jobs in close quarters

Strong lifting capacity Excellent lifting capacity for digging, lifting, and loading isprovided by a powerful and responsive front working group.Even when working to the side, using hydraulic attachments, orlifting heavy objects, the U15 has excellent stability, thanks toits innovative counter balancing technology, long tumblerdistance, low center of gravity and smooth operation.

Smooth operation Smooth operation across a wide range of jobs is assured, thanks to the U15’s advanced variable displacement pumpsand Hydraulic Matching System.

Auxiliary hydraulic systemThe U15’s auxiliary hydraulic system accommodates a varietyof attachments, such as breakers and augers. Standardequipment includes port pipes on the arm, bi-directionalauxiliary hydraulic controls, and a control valve. The auxiliaryhydraulic connections are located within easy reach andincorporate short hoses that are less likely to become tangledor damaged.

Boom cylinder Located above the boom, the boom cylinder is safe fromdamage during breaker or dumping operations. A newcylinder design features a larger diameter rod and increasedhydraulic pressure for greater lifting power and optimum frontattachment speeds.

Strong bucket breakout force

The U15 has the power you need for heavy loads and toughexcavating jobs, a breakout force of 3,417.2 lbs, with thededicated bucket and quick coupler.

Working range The U15’s excellent reach and digging depth ensure that eachdigging job is performed with maximum efficiency and speed.

Powerful and dependable, the U15’s diesel enginedelivers superiorhorsepower andperformance. It offerslow noise and vibrationlevels, exceptional fuelefficiency, and complieswith the EPA’s 2008 Tier IVemissions regulations.

Protected front hoses For greater protection, the U15’s fronthoses are routed within the arm. Thisdesign also improves operatorvisibility, increases hose service life, and lowers repair costs.

Front Pin Bushings Pin bushings are installed at allof the pivot points along theswing bracket, boom, arm, andbucket. Pin type bushings notonly last longer, they are easierto replace when necessary.

Two-pattern SelectionSystem (TPSS)A quick flip of a lever lets youswitch operating patterns fromISO to SAE or vice versa.

Hydraulics maintenanceThe under-deck hydraulics canbe accessed quickly and easilyfor routine maintenance. Thereare no bolts to unscrew—just liftthe rubber mat and open thefloor plate.

MaintenanceWide-opening covers provide easy access to the engine oilgauge, coolant reserve tank and dual element air cleaner. It’salso easy to access the fuel filter and water separator, battery, radiator and oil cooler. Two-piece hose connections for thedozer and boom cylinders simplify hose replacement, reducedowntime, and virtually eliminate the need to enter the machinefor maintenance.

2-speed travel switchBy placing the 2-speed travelswitch on the dozer lever, dozingoperations have become fasterand easier. The new location alsofrees up space on the floor forimproved operator comfort.

Wrist restsADJUSTABLE wrist rests help reduce arm movement andincrease operator comfort for greater work efficiency.

Wider foot areaMore spacious than many conventional tail-swing excavators, the U15’s wider foot area enhances operator comfort. Theresult is less operator fatigue and greater job efficiency.

High-back suspension seatThe U15’s deluxe high-back seat increases productivity byproviding optimum comfort for operators of all sizes.

ROPS/FOPS canopyThe ROPS and the FOPS canopy meets the applicable, ISO,SAE, and OSHA standards providing complete protection fromaccidental rollovers and falling objects, ensuring an extra levelof safety and security on the job.

Straight travel Kubota’s Hydraulic Matching System keeps the U15 travelingin a straight line while operating the boom, assisting in loadingand off-loading.

Safe, controlled starts When the safety control lever is moved upward, the consolemoves with it, providing more room for entry and exit. Toprevent unexpected machine movement during entry or exit, the pilot and travel controls are then disabled. This is the onlytime that the engine will crank over.
