The full scale of the input signal needs to be below 2.3V or above 4.9V. To convert voltage signals with full scale voltage between 2.3V and 4.9V it is recommended to use 5V as the full scale range, or contact Ocean Controls with your requirements. To do this a voltage source of the full scale voltage is required. Follow these steps to configure the unit for any voltage range. When using with signals with full range greater than 3.3V move the switch to the Divide position. When using with signals with full range lower than 3.3V move the switch to the Amplify position. Short out INPUT to GND and adjust the 4mA adjustment potentiometer until 4mA is seen on the OUTPUT. Input a maximum range signal to the INPUT pin and adjust the 20mA adjustment potentiometer until 20mA is seen on the OUTPUT pin, the KTA-289 is now ready for use.
