Krakow

Krakow is the former capital of Poland. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

• Kraków is the unofficial cultural capital of Poland,it was named the official European Capital of Culture for the year 2000 by the European Union. It is a major attraction for both local and international tourists, attracting seven million visitors a year. Major sights are the Main Market Square, the Wawel Castle, the National Art Museum,the Wawel Cathedral.Kraków has 28 museums and public art galleries.

After my visit of this city, I often remember of it and I think that I want to come back there. As for me, it is the city of dreams.

I love this city. It has stuck in my memory.The most memorable attractions are the Wawel Castle, the Market Square and the Town Hall.

WawelWawel is the Krakow’s Royal Castle, it is situated on the hill. The whole complex has some structures.It is the main tourist place in Krakow which is visited by thousands of tourists. Visiting this place once, you will want to go back.

Wawel Cathedral is home to royal coronations and resting place of many national heroes.

The Wawel Cathedral has been the main burial site for Polish monarchs since the 14th century.

Town Hall Tower, its height is 70 meters, it stands alone in the north-eastern part of the area - it is worth visiting because it is the medieval castle.

Main Market Square is one of the largest medieval squares in Europe, it was built in 1257. There is a grandiose building Cloth Hall in the centre of it. It was built by order of King Casimir the Great In 1358. On the second floor, in addition to spacious halls for balls and receptions, was arranged Gallery of Polish Painting. Now on the first floor of the building housed the souvenir shops, and the second - the National Museum, dedicated to the national painting and sculpture.

Market Square

The main square is surrounded by historic townhouses , palaces and churches. Main Market Square is also known for its large population of Rock Pigeons, florist stalls,gift-shops, beer-gardens and horse-drawn carriages.

The main square of the Old Town of Kraków is the principal urban space located at the centre of the city. It dates back to the 13th century, it is the largest medieval town square in Europe.

Krakow is the most beautiful city. I would love to visit it again.
