    Membership Participation at the Keller Senior Activities Center is open to persons who are age 55 or older and their adult guests, unless otherwise designated by the Senior Activities Center Supervisor. Participants are required to complete participant form upon their second visit to the center or before going on their first group trip. The Keller Senior Activities Center is neither designated nor qualified for Adult Day Care. All participants must be able to physically care for themselves or have a personal assistant with them. This includes being able to navigate a walker or wheelchair and function independently. Lunch Program Each day at noon a nutritional lunch is served. Suggested donation for persons 60 and over is $2.00. Persons under 60 are asked to pay $5.00. Reservations should be phoned into (817) 743-4370 by 12:00pm the previous day. Stop by the KSAC if you would like to see a monthly menu. NETS Transportation Service The Northeast Transportation Service (NETS) offers door-to-door transportation services to Keller residents who are disabled or 55 years of age or older. Trained drivers are available to assist passengers in getting on and off the vehicles. To schedule your trip, call 817-336-8714. The NETS fare is $1.50 per one-way trip. Thursday Night Activities Join us on Thursday evenings 5pm-8pm for dinner and an activities. Activities include BINGO (high stakes & challenging), BUNCO, Train Dominos and Skip Bo. Cost is $2 per person. Participants need to register by 12pm the day prior. Blood Pressure Checks Keller Fire/Rescue provides free blood pressure check at 11am on the first Friday of each month. No reservations are needed. AARP Drivers Safety Every other month, the KSAC hosts the AARP Drivers Safety class taught by AARP volunteers. The four hour class is open to persons aged 50 and older. Cost is $14 for non AARP members and $12 for AARP members. Completing this class may save you 10% on your auto insurance for the next three years. This class is 12:30pm-4:30pm one Monday every other month (see calendar insert for dates). Call the KSAC to register. Space is limited.

    Game Groups Pinochle: A trick-taking game typically for two, three or four players and played with a 48 card deck. Each hand is played in three phases: bidding, melds, and tricks. Party Bridge: a trick-taking card game using 2 decks of cards played by four players in two competing partnerships sitting opposite each other around a table. The game consists of several hands (or deals) each progressing through four phases: dealing the cards, the auction (also referred to as bidding), playing the hand, and scoring the results. Texas Holdem: A variation of the standard card game of poker. The game consists of two cards being dealt face down to each player and then five community cards being placed face-up by the dealera series of three ("the flop") then two additional single cards ("the turn" and "the river"), with players having the option to check, bet, raise or fold after each deal. Hand & Foot: The aim is to get rid of cards from your hand (11 cards), and then from your foot (11 cards), by melding them. A Meld is a set of three to seven cards of equal rank placed face up on the table. A Meld cannot have fewer than three cards. Train Dominos: The object of the game is for a player to play all the dominoes from his or her hand onto one or more chains, or "trains", emanating from a central hub or "station". 42: A trick-taking game played with a standard set of double six dominoes BINGO Bingo is played Mondays at 2pm and Wednesdays at 10am. Bingo cards are sold 30 minutes prior to the beginning of Bingo. We stop selling cards at the start of the session. Cost is $1 per card and you can buy up to 4 cards. We play 9 games of regular Bingo or 4 corners and with the 10th game being Blackout. Money collected for the cards is dispersed among the 10 games played. Birthday Breakfast Its even better than breakfast in bed! The birthday breakfast is served (with a smile) at 9 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Breakfast consists of breakfast casserole, fruit, juice, and coffee. Seniors with birthdays during that month eat FREE. others are asked to contribute $2. Reservations are due by noon on the day prior. Nintendo Wii Theres always a bowling tournament at the KSAC on our Nintendo Wii, just show up to participate! Breakfast Club Come and enjoy a breakfast with good food and friends. The Breakfast Club meets the first Tuesday of each month at 9:00am . They meet at Kassandras Mexican Kitchen, on Keller Parkway. Just show up to participate! Kitchen Band Bring a homemade instrument and join our kitchen band. No musical experience needed just come and have a good time! Chair Massage Need a stress relief? Schedule an appointment for a 10 minute chair massage by Ron Smith each month. Cos is $10 per person for a 10 minute session. Register for an appointment by calling or stopping by the KSAC. Special Coffee Bar Come and have a Free cup of coffee the last Wednesday of every month. This event is sponsored by BrightStar Care.

    AQ Hearing Screenings Friday June 3 - 10:00am-12pm Cost- FREE event Come for a free hearing screening by AQ Hearing. Call or stop by the KSAC to register.

    Fit & Fab Wednesday & Friday-12:30pm Cost: $25 per 4 week session This is a low impact workout designed specifically with seniors in mind. Exercises will be performed in a chair & standing to improve agility, balance, coordination, & activities for daily living. We will incorporate free weights & elastic tubing with handles for added resistance to work all major muscle groups & increase muscular strength & range of movement. A short meditation will compliment the end of your workout. Water bottle & proper shoes are mandatory. No open toe or backless shoes will be permitted. Tai Chi Tuesday & Thursday-9:00am Cost- $20 per 4 week session Do you suffer from Arthritis or stiff muscles and joints? Join this new class to practice movements and techniques that may help with symptoms of arthritis. Energizing Yoga for Seniors Monday & Wednesday-9:00am Cost- $25 per 4 week session This class promotes flexibility, balance, mind-body awareness and basic breathing followed by a series of gentle energizing yoga postures. Modifications will be available if needed. Benefits of Yoga include: pain relief, reduced blood pressure, improved flexibility, improved sleeping habits and improved balance. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Computer Class Tuesday-Wednesday-Friday Cost- $5 per 4 week session Want to learn more about using the computer? Sign up for a computer class.
