What is Assessing Pupils’ Progress (APP)?APP is a new approach to in-school assessment; helping you link classroom assessment to National Curriculum levels in order to track the progress of individual pupils and intervene accordingly.

APP consists of the periodic assessment of pupils through evidence collected of their work. Pupils will be assessed against five Assessment Focuses, all of which relate to How Science Works skills.

Containing 33 differentiated tasks in stimulating and motivating contexts, the Assessing Pupils’ Progress Teacher Pack has been designed specially to help you assess different attainment levels across a range of Assessment Focuses, or just concentrate on one level and/or Assessment Focus.

Covering a range of outcomes and topics across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and different Programme of Study and Framework objectives, this pack of activities will enable you to implement APP with ease and confidence.
