krones MultiCoFunctional links

“Only” a pack conveyor? Anything but! MultiCo combines the individual machines in a bottling or packaging line into a functional unit. Its high-tech sensors, intelligent controller and frequency-controlled drives sig-nificantly contribute to a continuous product flow, if for example, down-times of individual machines are to be bridged effectively through the system‘s buffer function.

The flexible all-rounder transports different pack types such as plastic crates, cartons, or shrink-packs safe-ly to their destination. Being a pro-fessional system, it operates with gentle product treatment, low-noise and minimum energy consumption. Thanks to the modular designof the MultiCo, the conveyor can be suited exactly to your requirements and it can be planned and imple-mented without any problems into any line. As you see: It is able to meet your needs in every way!

■ Made entirely of stainless steel with a side panel height of 200 mm and sturdy supporting structure

■ Chain runs on low-friction and low-wear plastic rails

■ Rollers with rubber damping ensure low-noise chain return starting at a speed of 0.6 metres per second

Roller conveyor

■ Different types of rollers can be used, for example stainless steel, galvanised, rubber-coated or back-up rollers

■ Pitch of 57.15 or 76.2 mm ■ Available widths from 300 to

1,745 mm ■ Made entirely of stainless steel

with a side panel height of 200 mm and sturdy supporting struc-ture

■ Driven by means of individu-al chains, and double-sprocket wheels from roller to roller

■ Sprocket and chain guards

■ Suitable for reversed operation ■ Rubberised ascents and descents

with slope of up to 20 degrees pos-sible

■ Greater tensile strength than for steel chains

■ Suitable for standard conveyor support

■ Can be used in rubberised design as a stopping and spacing con-veyor

Control system

Downtimes in the system can be avoided if machine output levels and buffers interact perfectly. The MultiCo pack conveyor fills belts as needed and closes gaps between packs. Sensors are used to avoid unnecessary accumulation of pres-sure in the pack flow. As soon as the buffer conveyor is completely filled, a back-up pressure cut-off is initiated at the infeeding machine. All motors and frequency inverters of the con-veyors can be controlled and adjust-ed through the user interface on the touch-screen . The frequency invert-ers are controlled via profibus or Ethernet.

Operation

■ Convenient operation by touch-screen with simple menu guidance and clear graphics

■ Diagnostics system for fault diag-nostics for line image

■ Diagnostics support via drawings, images and help texts

■ Wizard for troubleshooting ■ Remote maintenance available

using the remote service system ■ Optionally available with control

centre function

Malfunction display on the touch-screen (optional)

■ Quick installation and start-up Almost all of the components are already pre-assembled in the fac-tory. This ensures the conveyor is ready for operation within a very short time (“plug and play”).

■ Easy operation The entire system can be operated without any great operator effort: “Directing” MultiCo is easy from a touch-screen with simple menu guidance and clear overall visual-isation.

■ Short change-over times MultiCo can be changed to differ-ent pack types within a very short time.

■ Long service life The sturdy basic construction ensures a long service life and problem-free operation of the con-veyor.
