—During 2018 we settled out on a mission to create a new chair collection that

could adapt to both our current and future furniture ranges. This new collection is deeply rooted in our DNA and fueled by our vision to design and produce

furniture with endless possibilities — This is Kristensen Chairs.

On this journey we teamed up with Michael Kvist from Kvist IPR who connected us to several designers, which each presented their idea of a chair, that could

live up to our requirements. In the end we now stand with a strong 5 chair lineup – in dierent styles and with great customization possibilities.

We are very proud to finally present the collection as well as the talented designers behind our new chairs, a field which consist of both well-known,

award winning and upcoming designers from Scandinavien.

The visual and physical appearance of the SAKS chair clearly represents all the design values and principals that Poul M. Volther focused on bringing into his designs. With the chair being comfortable, functional, well crafted and visually pleasing, it truly has the potential of becom-ing a true ‘Danish Design Classic’.

The name, SAKS, means scissor in Danish and refers to crossing legs and their shape. With a significant design and beautiful lines, the SAKS chair will bring character and create a harmonic and pleasing look around the dining table.

The chair is available in ash and oak in all our wood colours, along with a selection of high quality textiles from Gabriel and semianiline leather from Trendline.

ABOUT THE CHAIR—

POUL M. VOLTHERDesigner

1923-2001—

Poul M. Volther was a Danish furniture designer who belonged to a generation

of designers and architects who pioneered the danish furniture industry,

with a renewed focus on high quality materials and craft. Poul M. Volther is above all remembered for his iconic Corona Chair and his work with FDB in creating more aordable designer

furniture for the general public.

As a true believer in pure functionalism, he avoided short-lived aesthetic trends,

concentrating on the simple crafting with quality materials. A vision he also

encouraged hundreds of designstudents to aim for, while he were lecturing at The

Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

The RAM chair is created with the intention of making a dining chair that is flexible in its form and function, so it will easily match dierent interiors and tables. RAM is designed with two dierent leg types, steel or wood, which each bring its own character to the chair. With the steel legs, the chair is stackable and therefore it is perfect for environments where extra chairs often is needed.

The shape of the back is what characterizes RAM. The harmonic lines and dropping curve on the slightly over-sized back mimics the shape of a rams head and horns. A dining chair is often presented from the front, but is often seen from the back – RAM is designed to look great and pleasing from every angle.

STEFFENSEN & WÜRTZDesigner

—

The danish designduo Thomas Steensen and Pia Würtz has since 2010 worked as independent designers with furniture,

interior design and product development. They are both trained industrial designers from Aalborg University and

known for their user-orientated approach to design.

Their design often has a characteristic look, an exciting angle or an elegant stature – all in a way that makes sense both

functionally, technically and aesthetically

With the CLIP chair, Tom Stepps vision was to create a dining chair with great comfort without compromising the chairs visual appearance. Tom Stepps designs are light and humorous yet characterized by strong graphical lines and well executed roundings. The Clip chair is no exception to this characterization. It is perfectly balanced in a very harmonic way, as it has some volume without being to dominating around the diningtable. The chair wraps beautifully around you and the big cushioned seat creates an embracing chair, that you do not want to leave.

TOM STEPP Designer

—Tom Stepp is a danish architect and

designer who also has a background as an building engineer. This mix of

professions has shaped his personal expression, which best can be

described as modern functionalism.

Tom Stepp is especially known for his varied design, but also for mastering the

understated beauty that Scandinavian design is characterized by.

curved back legs also serve as acomfortable support for your back

With the METRO chair Mia wanted to make a simple yet comfortable wooden chair suitable for many types of rooms, contexts and styles. Light, shadow and simple shapes create a contemporary look, exploring a new and urban take on a classic chair type. Looking out the studio window at the constructions site of the new Copenhagen metro line, the name came naturally, emphasizing an urban quality.

The METRO chair is characterized by the organic curved armrests and the back legs, which in an elegant way also serve as a comfortable support for your back.

Over the past 25 years, in which Mia Lagerman has worked as a furniture designer, she has been able to position herself as a key player on both the national and international design scene.

Based on architectural principles and the Scandinavian tradition, the VEIFA Chair is an innovative take on a time-less idiom. The curved backrest embraces and supports the body, while the harmonic shape is an approach to the minimalistic design idea of “less is more”. Emphasized by the elegant curves, this chair is an eye-catching piece of furniture that brings a light expression from a strong and solid construction. VEIFA is the Icelandic word for waves and curves, which is the essential detail of the chair design. Allowing people to customize the chair by selecting both wood & fabric brings a lot of flexibility and oers numer-ous possibilities whether the chair is set in a professional or private setting.

As a dedicated architect, graduated from Aarhus School of Architecture in 2015, Maja strive to make honest

designs and great solutions that complement the everyday life.

In 1991 the Danish Kristensen family began retailing interior products. The passion for furniture grew through

the years and in 2003 the family took over an old furniture factory in Lithuania. Since then Kristensen &

Kristensen has grown several times and the production has been modernized to demand a sustainable and

safe working environment.

Today we employ more than 200 skilled workers in the 8.000 m2 carpentry and smithy.

—At the factory we have our own drying ovens

and sawmill. This means that we can control the process from the first rough cuts of the wood and

down to the final details. We stand out by performing extraordinary hand sorting and processing of the wood.

This passion for the old crafting methodes is reflected in our designs an production.
