2.3 Feedback from KVK to Research SystemName of KVK Feedback
Ujjain 1. The farmers of the district facing the problem of long duration in pigeonpea alonwith low yield. The problem of yield is sort-out up to a some extent but duration could not be reduced which one is the need of hour.
2. The iron and sodium interaction given the 15 per cent yield superiority. The soil of the area is deficient for these nutrients which reflects significantly on the application of the same.
3. The application of raised bed planter enhances the yield although field in submerged condition. It also used appropriate seed rate which is also a component of high cost. The cost of equipment is high for marginal farmers.
4. Although the use of Spinosad reduces the thrips infestation which increases the yield but the cost of spinosad is too much higher for most of the farmers.
5. Training programme on preservation of fruits and vegetables must be increased.

3.4Feedback of the Farmers
Name of KVK FeedbackUjjain 1. Soybean: Onset of monsoon was timely on 20 june. Rainfall was above normal. Rains received upto 25 September was 1095 mm
with more than 42 rainy days. Moderate attack of girdle beetle, semilooper and H. armigera and white fly at seed filling stage was observed in demonstrations in the very latter stage as well as in local check plots. Crops were under submerged condition leading to slight loss in vegetative growth. In general, 12 to 15 percent losses in yield are estimated. We are highly impressed because of high yield even in abnormal rains situation beyond their expectation. The good quality of seed formed by the use of SSP, MOP & Zinc sulphate led to the assurances that these inputs are vital for soybean. Also got aware of judicious and timely spray ofinsecticides for better control of major pests including sporadic incidence of pests like whitefly of Soybean
2. Blackgram: The good quality of produce by the use of SSP, MOP & Zinc sulphate led to the assurances that these inputs are vital for urid. Also got aware of judicious and timely spray of insecticides for better control of major pests including sporadic incidence of pests like particularly powdery mildew.
3. Maize: Good hybrid, compatible with soybean based cropping sequence.4. Wheat: Farmers liked the use of rotovator and varieties like Poorna, Harshita, Malav Kranti.
