Rotary club of Coimbatore and CUBE (Centre for Urban Biodiversity

conservation and Education) to accomplish the mission of creating green

cover. KPRIEnT has provided 43,560 sq.ft land for planting 15,000 saplings

in the college premises. The tree plantation was initiated by

organized a one day Guest Lecture on “Graph Theory –

Generating Functions” on 20.09.2018. Dr. M. MUTHUCHELVAM,

ASP/ Maths, GCT, Coimbatore, addressed the IV year students

on Exponential Generating Function and Non-Homogeneous

Recurrence Relations.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering

organized Guest Lecture by the leading Industry Expert

Mr.M.Ranjith, Technical lead, Google Inc, Bengaluru on

22.09.2018 for III and IV year students. The needs of Service and

Product based industries were vividly exemplified.

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

organized a Guest Lecture on “Role of Electrical Engineers in IT

Sector” by the alumni on 01.09.2018 for the final year EEE

students. The scope of EEE branch in IT and various other

domains was illustrated to the students.

A guest lecture on “Total Quality Management” was organized

by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 20.09.2018 for

the final year students. An exposure on total quality

management principles, frameworks, tools and techniques for

effective real life applications have been given by R.Sadagoba

Ramanujan, General Manager, TVS SUNDRAM FASTENERS LTD,

Gummidipundi, Chennai.

ISHRAE Student Chapter Technical Talk and the Department of

Mechanical Engineering jointly organized a Guest Lecture on

Heat Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) on 21.09.2018.

Conditions, expounded on Refrigeration and the Evaporation

techniques.

The Department of English, KPR Institute of Engineering and

Technology organized an Orientation on “Importance of

Knowing Japanese Language” by Ms. Shanmuga Priya, ABK-

AOTS DOSOKAI, Coimbatore on 21.09.2018 at Veena Hall,

KPRIET, Coimbatore. The programme was organized for

educating the significance of Japanese language and its culture

among the interested students of all the departments.

A Workshop on Real-time Internet of Things (IoT) using

Raspberry Pi was organized by the Department of Electronics

and Communication Engineering in association with Beta

Technologies India Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore from 29.08.2018 to

31.08.2018 for II and III year ECE students. Ms. D.Subhashree

and Ms. Mahima, Beta Technologies India Pvt Ltd. were the

resource persons.

The Industry Institute Partnership Cell in coordination with the

department of Mechanical Engineering organized an Activity

Based Awareness cum Training Program for Mechanical

Engineering Students. Mr.K.Murali, Senior Manager-HR and

Ms.R.Nithyakalyani, Sr. Executive – HR of KYB Corporation,

Chennai were the resource persons. The main objective of the

session was to train the students on basic skill sets needed to

sustain in the highly competitive industry.

PROJECT EXPO

IIPC organized PROJECT EXPO 2018 on 15.09.2018 for KPRIEnT

students. Around 105 projects across various fields viz.

Agriculture, Mechanical, Automotive, Robotics, Green

technology, environment related, Cloud, IOT, Web/mobile

application and Medical were exhibited by the students of I,II,III

&IV years across all disciplines.

COMMON EVENTS

KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology organized an

“Interactive Session with French Delegates Regarding Higher

Education and Research”. Dr. Jerome Bove, Attache` for

Academic and Scientific Cooperation, Mr. Emmanuel Samson,

Attache` for Cooperation in French language and Ms. Rhea

Sheryl Shivan, Campus France Manager, Chennai, addressed the

young aspirants of KPRIEnT on the prospects of higher studies in

France.

The Department of Training and Placement, KPRIEnT organised

a Career Guidance Program on 3D Bio-Printing for interested

students and faculty members of all departments on

19.09.2018. The guest speaker Dr. Javier Munguia Valenzuela,

Professor, New Castle University, UK, addressed the students on

the emergence of additive manufacturing and 3D printing

technologies, its practice and application.

The Department of Civil Engineering in association with Naanal

Club organised various events like Treasure Hunt, Fun Zone,

Quiz, Meme Contest, C Draw and Debate to mark INZENIR’S DAY

on 15.09.2018. Students exhibited innumerable talents in

various events organised to mark the Engineer’s day

celebration.

Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) -Cum GP RD Launch

camp is hosted by KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology

from 27.09.2018 to 06.10.2018. Three army officers and 491

cadets from 21 schools and 38 colleges in and around

Coimbatore & 50 Adm staff participated in the camp. Group

commander – Col. Peter Celestine and Commanding Officer -

Nalin Mohan witnessed the Special training given for RDC

cadets.
