Project Details
Industrial project:
Team lead for the project conducted at NTPC on Power systems (Switchgear and Protection),
under the supervision of Mr. Subramaniam, which included the study and analysis of structural
design, functionality, automation of the Thermal power system protection gear. Analyzed
variations in the load handling capability of the switchgear and the automation involved for loadbalancing during the abnormal variations.
Analysis of power circuit breakers and corresponding relays
Focus on the protection units for 2600MW thermal power plant
Automated segregation of fault induced section of power generation equipment
Detailed study of intermediate auxiliaries
Final Project:
Team lead for the project conducted on Electronic Circuit design and analysis (Passive Snubber
Circuit) for multi-level voltage protection for electronic equipments in a commercial/industrialzone with enhanced operation and response time. The project is concentrated on;
Electronic design for the surge protection unit
Testing of the circuit for low voltage and high voltage cut off
Simple electronic design with heat sensing components, diodes & varistors
CLASS –I, II & III surge arresters design and analysis
Early Streamer Emission (Van De Graff Generator) utilization in Class – I surge
protection devices
Electrostatic protection inclusive surge protection design
Development of a cost and maintenance affective ESD protection device (EID)
Testing of Earth Interlocking device (EID) at a commercial industry
Installation of the EID and reliability test in commercial chemical unit.
