Activity Report 2020 – Activities in the club’s room

Due to COVID-19 pandemic CERN cancelled the access to all the club’s members and the access to theclubs was forbidden. The new committee took over from the previous one late March 2020 when thepandemic and all the restrictions were in place.

Although, we were quite quick and we did some works in our club room (for example, cleaning the room,fixing of the pc (still we need to replace it), separation of the old stuff that are inside the room, cleaningthe lathe etc.).

Apart from that, we bought a new 3D printer (PRUSA) which was used for some masks production forCERN.

Unfortunately we didn’t have more time to make the club better! But this year this should be the target!

Also, be aware that the club has a new electronic lock system!

In case you want to enter, you must officially ask for it!

Go through ADAMS and search for 0565-R-001: CERN Technical Modeling Club! Create therequest and will go to me and to Jamie Thomas PINNELL for approval.

For external members, we have a procedure to get the access and to get their CERNaccess card which will be valid to enter the room!

The installation of the electronic lock cost to the club ~800CHF. This was paid by the StaffAssociation and the amount will be refunded by the club!

CTMC NEW WEBSITE

Our club has a totally new website which complies with the CERN New Standards in terms ofsecurity. This was mandatory to be done in order our webpage to continue to be active.

It was me who created the website and I am the administrator! In case you want to add photosand more info, please come to me and we will do it!Also, send me your nice photos in order to update the website!!!!

Activity Report 2020 – Equipment report

In the club we have plenty of stuff which are not used and are broken!

These stuff should go away in order the place tobe clean and tidy!An email sent a year ago asking from the membersto take their own stuff. Thanks to people whoreplied and asked for their stuff to be kept in theclub during the pandemic. All the equipment isstill there and when we have again access to theclub I will send an email to all the members inorder to arrange a meeting in the club and to takecare about their equipment.


Activity Report 2020 – Purchases

We bought a new 3D printer (PRUSA) which was used for some masks production for CERN! And thanks all the membersfor approving this request!

Also we bought some Drone stuff (Jamie to report more) and are available when the club will be open again!

The 3D printer was used by Richard for the masks printing and now is stored in my garage till we have the authorization tobring it back to the club’s room!!!

PLEASE: if you want to use the 3D in your house I am really glad to give it to you! There is no much space left in my garage!SO FEEL FREE TO ASK!!

Membership 2021

We though that the membership for 2021 should be free for the members who paid for 2020!

It is a good move, I believe showing that the club is close to its valuable members and wish to continue focusing to ourpurpose which is our Hobby and to bring people together!

Elections of the NEW Committee

The committee of 2020 agreed that would like to continue with the same assembly also for 2021.

Approval budget for 2021 for new equipment and supplies.

For 2021:

• To purchase a Flight simulator,• To purchase a battery charger,• To make a market survey and to purchase a new lathe/milling machine,

There is an online excel table lunched by Jamie in order to write down what we need for the club. Big purchases has to be voted by the committee and after to proceed with the purchase.
