Nathan’s debut recording Sonatas & Sonatinas has received praise from many critics. “A high-octane agenda from a guitarist with the skill, imagination, and confidence to bring it alive."- Classical Guitar, London. Nathan studied with Joanne Castellani of the Castellani-Andriaccio Duo and the legendary Cuban guitarist/composer Ricardo Iznaola. Nathan has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including a grant from the Allied Arts Foundation and D’Addario Strings. In 2001 he was a prize winner in the MTNA national guitar competition. As a composer, Nathan has made contributions to the repertoire for solo guitar, guitar ensemble and guitar with other instruments. His works are currently published by Doberman-Yppan. Nathan is also dedicated to furthering the pedagogy of the instrument and has a very active career as a teacher. Carl Dimow is an eclectic and creative musician. His performances range from classical music to jazz, klezmer, blues, and original theater music. Carl has appeared in concerts, festivals and school residencies in the US, Europe and Central America. He performs with the Casco Bay Tummlers klezmer band who have been featured at festivals in Italy, Germany, Lithuania and Slovenia. Their third CD, Journey, was released in 2005. He is noted for his use of extended techniques to create a unique klezmer flute sound. The reworking of two classic clarinet tunes into flute solos is just brilliant” - The Greater Boston Flute Gazette. Carl has also worked as a composer and performer with the award winning Figures of Speech Theater Company. In addition to flute and bass flute, Carl performs on guitar, ukulele, shakuhachi and an extensive collection of other ethnic flutes.
