Initial Phase: Project’s purpose, scope and justification. - Accepted the contract offer to build a business as a test franchise. - Conducted a series of meetings with stakeholders to better understand the overall goal and write up the characteristics of this business. - A simple Business strategy was written for the initial year of business. - Created a brand name, KÖLD with a color scheme and style. - Created revenue projections and estimated total cost of the project. Planning Phase: - 3D rendering made for proposed layout on Google Sketch Up (show frame) - Spent 6 weeks seeking an ideal location. - Closed a 5 year lease in a bustling part of central Houston. - Requested bids for planner and interior buildout. Executing Phase: - Full demolition and complete interior rebuild was required. - Demolition began Aug 15 th 2015 - Interior buildout began late August. - New 200 AMP electrical panel was installed to accommodate high electrical use. - Multiple wall frames and doorways were built. Some walls required extensive drywall, including hush board to reduce noise interference. - Adjustments to existing A/C were made. - Major plumbing work, including new water lines were installed into the foundation. - Custom showers we’re built into the space. - Equipment installation began in October. - Float pods were installed over a week long period. - The Cryotherapy unit was delivered and installed within a day. - Washer/dryer, mop sink, and a new toilet we’re installed in Late October. - Changing booths were custom made using a metal pipe frame and curtains. - Interior buildout finalized in early December 2015. - Creating a more efficient processes to all of KÖLD’s operations.

- Fix any minor issues and obstacles.

- Maintain a great reputation to our clientele.

Obstacles and Challenges:

- Closing a space without a personal guarantee.

- Dispute over A/C system with neighboring tenant.

- Houston Permitting center delay

- Equipment lacked UL certification. Needed 3rd party inspection.

- Electrical panel limitations.

- Creating a quiet, insulated environment for the Floatation pods.

Considerable planning went into the layout

to complement the limited space we had

available.

Minor adjustments had to be made. I was

able to accomplish this without running

behind schedule.

The lease required a complete interior

demolition and build out.

The buildout cost $50,000. New electrical panel and layout.
