    KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCHMarch 10 th , 2013 11:00 am

Guest Minister- Rev. John HendersonDirector of Music- Suzanne Strahan

    Fourth Sunday in Lent

Preparation for Worship In todays gospel, the story of Jesusraising Lazarus is not so much a story of resurrection, as it is of resuscitation. Lazarus will live out a more or less natural span of human life and then he will die, as all human beings must die. Jesussays in verse 11 our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I am goingthere to awaken h im. Lazarus is awakened from the sleep of deathand he will live differently from that day forward, as will many whovewitnessed the event. In what sense does our Lord come to the deadareas of our experience and call us to come out!? What is the na tureof the tomb we are in? What are things that bind us and limit us andpresent us from seeing, living, growing?

Prelude: Be Not Afraid Bob Dufford, arr. D.E. Wagner
